RE: NBA Playoffs

It's not just the amount of shots Westbrook takes, it is the fact that he is usually taking more shots than Durant down the stretch of a close game. It was a little more understandable a few years ago when they were younger and Durant wasn't this awesome yet. But now a little dose of reality would do Westbrook well and the team would be better as a result. Aside from that they now lack the other scoring threat. Someone like Kevin Martin would do wonders right now but it is all Durant and Westbrook with a tiny splash of Ibaka. And Durant and Westbrook have not played well at all this series.

^That's just it BS...even in a team with MJ you can run a system but you cannot implement something that remotely resembles an offensive system in OKC? You know what is funny? Durant and Westbrook , when they have the ball, even ignore each other! There is some bad coaching going on there...

Watching the Clips-GSW game and looking at Curry...I used to see this guy, when he was no more than 10-11 years old, before Raptors games in the arena, shooting 3 pointer after 3 pointer with his dad Dell Curry (Except we called him ell Curry at the time because he had absolutely no D)...he would use his whole body and just arm the shots but he would still make them...and he would be so upset when he missed one, as rare as those misses were...

He has to be the best pure 3 point shooter in the league.

^ Absolutely. I too remember old man Dell as he was on the Bucks for a few years. Amazing shooter with an incredibly quick release. I think Stephen might be an even better shooter and probably has an even quicker release.

This is exactly what I am talking about...they would just stand side by side and shoot one three after another.

By the way, Cali's favorite player DeAndre has 24 points, 18 rebounds so far...even shooting the free throws better than %50;)....I know, I know Cali, even a broken clock and all that...:D

Have to admit I thought Indy had possibly turned the corner in game 4. Their backs were against the wall and they played a very good 2nd half and came from behind for the win. But clearly they still have issues and soon they might have all offseason to try to sort them out. They certainly are capable of beating the Hawks 2 in a row but I wouldn't bet the house on it.

The Pacers are offensively challenged. Period.

They were mightily overrated because they won one series (against the Knicks last year) that they had no business winning.

The main difference for them is on defense this year. They were one of the best defensive teams in the league the past couple seasons but it is non existent right now. And I don't know what happened to Roy Hibbert but he has disappeared the last couple months. They dominated the Knicks last year, and darn near took out the Heat. They also had the best record in the NBA for most of this season until the nosedive started after the All Star Break.

Quite the article on the one and only Joey Crawford. I hadn't seen his brilliant defense on Curry before! I enjoy his antics only because the Bucks are so bad that I don't have to worry about Crawford hurting them in a pivotal playoff game. In all seriousness it is way past time the NBA sends him into retirement. It is always bad news when an NBA ref is trending on Twitter for 2 different games in a one week span.

Huge second quarter by Raps. Up 62-44.
It ain't over but if we keep the intensity up, we should be alright.

Nets coming back, 6 mins to go. They are down by 8. Soft play by Raps. It ain't over till it is over. Got to fight.

Nets complete the comeback from 26 down. Inexplicable play from Raps. Horrible...

Raps win this but kudos to the Nets coming back from 26 to tie it. Finally exhaling...

Crazy end to that game, I could tell it wasn't tipped but that'd have been nuts if it was tipped and they'd have to call a goaltending to end the game.

Cannot just play 3 quarters of basketball man...As amazing as those 3 quarters were, I feel like the Nets have the momentum now...I will take the win but wow...still shaken up.

RE: NBA Playoffs

So there are 6 series now at 3-2:

Raps-Nets
Clips-Golden State
Memphis-OKC
Hawks-Pacers
Spurs-Mavs
Blazers-Rockets

Of the above I give Dallas and Golden State the smallest chances of turning it around, and would be least surprised by Nets, Pacers and Thunder coming back.

^I think Hawks will close it out tonight. Something inexplicable happened to the Pacers in the last two months that is beyond basketball. That locker room changed.

I think both Pacers and OKC are crashing out. I hope I'm wrong.

RE: NBA Playoffs

Despite being up 3-2 I'm not about to call the Hawks a good team. Even the crappy Pacers figure to win a game 7 at home if it gets there. For OKC I think they'd find a way in game 7 if it gets there but they will certainly be the underdogs in game 6. Pretty sure the Nets-Raps is going 7.

I give both SA and LAC good chances of closing it out on the road and avoiding game 7 but if not they should still be big favorites to win a game 7.

I wanted OKC to play the final with Miami but now that I see how limited they are in what they run offensively (not that I did not know before, but I somehow thought play-offs would be different...my bad), Miami's defence would just destroy them. Maybe they should just lose now , change coaches and bring someone who will actually draw up more than 2 plays offensively and they will seriously be a contender, give or take a free agent or two.

RE: NBA Playoffs

If you want a West team to take out Miami it is going to be SA. OKC's chances are limited to Durant at least canceling out Lebron, which seemed a lot more likely before this series. Not that Durant can't warm up if they survive Memphis but you have to wonder if putting the team on his shoulders all year has taken its toll.
