RE: NBA Playoffs

As for tonight I don't think we are having a repeat of last night where 3 teams pushed it to 7. IMO only the Nets push it to 7 tonight. Dirk and Howard will be going fishing :)

RE: NBA Playoffs

Nets started solid. Of course talking about refs always help with the next game ...they are totally beating up the Raps. There was one posession where DeRozan was fouled 4 times, no call. Raps cannot worry about that though. Play your game.

The NBA lovesss game 7's. Haven't seen any of this game but just last night I'm not sure the Clippers got any call at all in the 4th quarter and they weren't settling for jumpers either. But nothing will ever top game 6 of Sacramento-LA in 2002, it is literally impossible to top that.

I remember that one too. Brutal.
Credit to Nets here, they came to play, but refs not calling anything. Best $25 G's Kidd ever spent.
Little bit of a comeback from the Raps but Nets will win this. At least winning the last quarter is a bit of a momentum.

Hard to believe there is going to be at least 4 game 7's this weekend and it could still get up to 6.

Of all the series in the 1st round I think the Spurs-Mavs deserves a game 7 the most. Every game except the 2nd one has been very good.

You guys miss me?

I told you a few months ago the Bulls would go out in Round 1. OKC will win game 7. Nets will remember how Chicago beat them at home for last year's game 7 and exact their revenge on the Raps (sorry Murat). Clips and Spurs will come through in 7. Houston is going home tonight and I honestly have no idea what will happen in Indy. They are so good at being terrible.

Cali's favorite fruity point guard is a beast. It's hard to believe after all these years how quick Parker still is

Was wondering what happened to you? Have you been able to see much of the action? It has been great as the competitiveness would indicate.

Houston's just been too up and down all series. They go on a nice run and build a lead but they can't put Portland away and the Trailblazers have outplayed them down the stretch.

Best point guard in the league, and perhaps the smartest finisher in Basketball.

The Houston-Portland game is just a case where you raise your hands and say too good. Harden had a very good game, and Howard had a monster 4th quarter, and yet it wasn't enough. Demian Lillard, what a man.

I'm on sick leave until the 19th. I was at my mom's for the past few weeks and there's no internet at her house. I've seen most of the games. Miami will make it to finals for the 4th year (who can stop them? Indy is down for the count, Wiz, Raps and Nets aren't winning 4 out of 7 games). I want to believe Spurs will be waiting for them, but they are struggling far too much with Dallas than they should and it will be difficult for them in the SF and conference finals.

We shall see about that part on Sunday ;)

RE: NBA Playoffs

So it will "only" be five game 7's.

OKC - Memphis - this figures to be the only one that is a foregone conclusion. If OKC loses this it will be one of the worst losses I can remember in the NBA, they could probably put 3 people on Gasol and 1 on Mike Miller on the perimeter and they'd still win.

Indy - Atlanta - I just can't see Indy losing this to a weak Atlanta team at home. The only times Indy has played well this series is with their backs against the wall (down big in game 2 they rallied, almost down 3-1 they rallied, almost going home for the season, they rallied). Do or die for both teams, the Pacers will eventually play well enough to beat Atlanta.

LA - Golden State - This is a series that shouldn't have made it this far. I love Chris Paul but he has been awful in this series and it's not like Golden State is a great defensive team. Golden State in a game 7 is dangerous against anyone anywhere. All it takes is for Curry and the other shooters to get hot and it will be tough. I do think the Clips will win, as it is game 7 at home and they are the better all around team, but wouldn't be shocked if Golden State upsets them.

Toronto - Nets - This is probably the toughest game 7 to call. Very different styles, one team is much older than the other, yet they seem pretty evenly matched. Given that you'd figure Toronto wins at home but with the Nets experience in game 7's I think that is a big edge for them. I think Pierce and Williams will win it for them down the stretch.

San Antonio - Dallas - It's clear by now that SA really can't stop Monta Ellis at all. I think that's the reason this has gotten to 7. Dirk has been Dirk but Ellis' quickness and athleticism has broken down SA's defense. So I disagree with KS that San Antonio having so many problems with Dallas means they will continue to struggle. This has just been a tough matchup. If SA survives, and I expect they will, I bet that series with Portland will go 5 at most. Just a completely different matchup there.

Can't say I agree with the first part. It's been CP3 to me for a long time but I'm starting to worry that the right knee will keep deteriorating and he could become a D-Wade. Paul is about to turn 29, and Wade's athleticism/play dropped enormously at age 30.

11 pt lead for the #1 seed at the half. I'm stepping out for dinner so this game will be over when I come back. I actually see some defense from Indy this half. Let's see if they can keep it up for 24 min.

RE: NBA Playoffs

George played well. I am not too sure if Pacers defended well or Hawks just missed everything. Order restored somewhat but Pacers have a long way to go. They are still not playing good basketball consistently. Hawks lost this series in game 6.
