RE: NBA Playoffs
So it will "only" be five game 7's.
OKC - Memphis - this figures to be the only one that is a foregone conclusion. If OKC loses this it will be one of the worst losses I can remember in the NBA, they could probably put 3 people on Gasol and 1 on Mike Miller on the perimeter and they'd still win.
Indy - Atlanta - I just can't see Indy losing this to a weak Atlanta team at home. The only times Indy has played well this series is with their backs against the wall (down big in game 2 they rallied, almost down 3-1 they rallied, almost going home for the season, they rallied). Do or die for both teams, the Pacers will eventually play well enough to beat Atlanta.
LA - Golden State - This is a series that shouldn't have made it this far. I love Chris Paul but he has been awful in this series and it's not like Golden State is a great defensive team. Golden State in a game 7 is dangerous against anyone anywhere. All it takes is for Curry and the other shooters to get hot and it will be tough. I do think the Clips will win, as it is game 7 at home and they are the better all around team, but wouldn't be shocked if Golden State upsets them.
Toronto - Nets - This is probably the toughest game 7 to call. Very different styles, one team is much older than the other, yet they seem pretty evenly matched. Given that you'd figure Toronto wins at home but with the Nets experience in game 7's I think that is a big edge for them. I think Pierce and Williams will win it for them down the stretch.
San Antonio - Dallas - It's clear by now that SA really can't stop Monta Ellis at all. I think that's the reason this has gotten to 7. Dirk has been Dirk but Ellis' quickness and athleticism has broken down SA's defense. So I disagree with KS that San Antonio having so many problems with Dallas means they will continue to struggle. This has just been a tough matchup. If SA survives, and I expect they will, I bet that series with Portland will go 5 at most. Just a completely different matchup there.
