More order restored in the West as well...OKC runs away with it in the second half, KD and Westbrook taking care of business. Grizz played a good half though.

Yeah, Memphis had a lot going against them to win a game 7 on the road against a team like OKC. Unfortunate but ultimately, OKC are just a better team with far more talent.

^^Missing Zebo didn't help their cause either.

First 2 games were as much a formality as expected, now the real game 7's start.

Completely ended their cause. I like crazy Zebo but to be that stupid and selfish is beyond words. Punch the dude in a game 7 when you're down 20 and going home for the year, don't kill your team by getting suspended for game 7.

Ended up being a very good game and the Clippers' stars stepped up in the end. Very entertaining series.

Great series. Golden States did well. I'm glad LA won though, as the Clippers vs. OKC was always going to be the more compelling series. Though that's the neutral in me. The OKC fan in me would have preferred GSW as the Clippers are a pretty tough match-up for the Thunder due to their inside presence and Chris Paul dictating the tempo. OKC cannot play small against them which means Perkins needs to get a lot of minutes, thus limiting OKC's offensive output. Westbrook generally guards Paul quite well though (he seems to relish that match-up) so I'm hoping for more of the same.

OKC is definitely the favorite and it is a much different matchup than Memphis. Having watched Jordan play like a man possessed I think he is the key for LAC because there is no way they are keeping Westbrook out of the paint. Paul played a great game 7 but that doesn't mean he is healthy enough to check Westbrook at all. The Clippers also don't have anyone to guard Durant, certainly no one like Tony Allen. Overall the Clippers have more good players on their team than OKC does, arguably more talent, but Durant will be the best player on the court and I don't see how they will prevent him from having a monster series.

I agree OKC are the favorites, but I thought they would have had an easier time with GSW. That said, the more I think about this, and despite being worried about the damage LAC can do inside, I think OKC have a few clear things going for them: Ibaka is one of the few power forwards in the league who can defend Griffin one on one. And while I think Serge's defense is at times slightly overstated in the sense that his block shot and rebounding numbers overshadow the fact that one-on-one, he's not the best defender around, he's still athletic enough to stop Blake from having monster games, at least in theory. Kendrick Perkins, for all his flaws, will prevent Deandre Jordan from having as many dunk opportunities as he did against GSW, as I don't see Jordan just getting lobs all series long.

The most distinct advantage is the one you mentioned, with LAC having no clear way to defend Durant and Westbrook on the perimeter, and stopping them from penetrating or taking mid-range jumpers. Chris Paul being hurt will make his job of defending Russell even more difficult.

I still see it being a very close series though, with the Clips doing some damage inside regardless, but I'm picking/hoping OKC edge it out.

RE: NBA Playoffs

The only thing I think that is going for the Clips in this series is that they have multiple ways to score. I am looking at the stat sheet from last night and they have 4 guys over 20 points and another 2 over 10. I have seen this before from them. OKC , however, will have to heavily rely on 2 guys. As amazing as these two guys are, if Clips found a way to play great team defense and force one of these two guys to struggle, they might make it interesting. The problem is, I do not ever recall Clips playing great team defense. Good here and there, that's it.

Agreed. And the defense takes a bit of a hit with Paul not at 100%. As always you want to make Westbrook into mostly a jumpshooter. He runs hot and cold there. Inevitably he will get to the hoop a lot though and that's where Jordan will have to be key for them. I can see the Clips winning this series if Westbrook plays similar to how he did most of the Memphis series. Other factors that could push them over the edge is the development of Griffin and they also have the better bench but you still have to go with OKC. Hope I'm wrong though.

I have no idea what to think the Pacers-Wizards. A couple of months ago this wouldn't even be a question, but count me among those who still aren't sold on the Pacers recapturing their form after struggling against a mediocre Atlanta team. And the media acting like Hibbert's 13 and 7 is something impressive is pretty hilarious, since it's only that way when compared to his previous atrocious numbers this series. Paul George is playing well though.

Sorry Murat, I'm rooting for Brooklyn as they'd make for a more interesting series with Miami (though I don't put too much stock in that regular season h2h).
