I still think it goes back to SA at 2-2 but with how Miami has been at home it could definitely be 3-1. There was no question Lebron was going to have a big game after getting grilled for 3 days after looking the fool cramping up and sitting out the end of game 1.

It was also huge how LeBron, Wade, and Bosh missed about 20 jumpers in a row with the score sitting at 83-80 Miami. They could have put the game away right there and then and failed to do so.

How in the world did he look like a "little baby" in Game 1? The guy couldn't even walk. There is nothing soft about sitting out when your body doesn't allow you to move. I have had leg cramps before and I know how paralyzing & painful they can be. There is no shame in what LeBron did in Game 1.
It's funny how we live in a world where Jason Collins - one of the biggest softies I have ever witnessed in the NBA - supposedly defies the stereotype of the "soft gay player" (which is untrue), while a bunch of ex-jocks who could never dream of doing what LeBron does essentially call him a pansy for leaving a game with cramps when the conditions are 100 degrees on the court. I agree with Colin Cowherd on this one, even though I generally disagree with him.
Also, Darth, I think it is noteworthy to point out to you and AntiPusher that what turned this game in Miami's favor in the third quarter were a bunch of JR Smith-like "bad shots" from LeBron - you know, isolation stepbacks, 1-on-1 threes, etc. That's what the JR Smith style can make basketball like, and that was only a small, short sample of it from LeBron.

Yea Wade and Bosh missed some easy shots in the 4th. Wade has gotten some really good looks the first couple games and has played well overall, way better than last year.
To me the biggest difference in the Heat's play this playoffs is Wade. Their strategy of sitting him out a lot clearly paid off resulting in what has been better play in the playoffs and weaker play in the regular season. They won 66 in the regular season last year but lived on the edge for a lot of the playoffs, this year they went through the East much easier.

I'm not saying he was a baby, just that the way it played out he was going to be heavily criticized. Clearly he'd have been out there if he could have been but we know the way it looked that the haters and even neutrals were going to have a field day. The only thing I'd say is that Lebron has cramped up a few times late in pivotal games. Not sure what he can do differently, I'm sure he is doing his best to stay hydrated but still...
There are very few bad shots for Lebron, much like KD he can rise above the defender so even when they contest well it is still a good shot. Though I will agree that the Heat/Lebron are often guilty of just having him run out the clock and then take step back jumpers before the shot clock.

Apart from LeBron's performance in the last three quarters (which was stellar), I honestly don't see the Heat as having played to their potential yet in this series with the Spurs. Obviously, Popps, Parker, Duncan and Ginobilli are clutch and seasoned veterans and it would never be easy, but Miami goes through these lulls with too little driving to the paint and too much reliance on the perimeter shooting. Bosch can and should drive to the hoop more than he has been. That dunk by him was a motivating moment. James goes back and forth, but really "lives" driving to the rim the best IMHO. He caught fire last night from the outside, but he excels long term taking it to the hoop. If Miami plays a tight game in the next two, I could see a beatdown coming in terms of score. I don't think the Spurs can really do that to Miami as long as LeBron is in there defending.

I didn't see the first half last night but the Heat played a very good 3.5 quarters until Lebron cramped up in game 1 and they were good last night in the last 1.5 quarters I saw. The Spurs move the ball very well and have great shooting to go along with Parker driving and Duncan's play down low.
I will say that the Heat have sometimes been guilty of poor decisions in leaving wide open shooters to help out on players they don't need to help on. If Patty Mills drives to the paint I will let the inside guys deal with it and not come off Green, Leonard, Belinelli, etc. That's one area they could improve on defensively. The only guy I'm helping out on is Parker and maybe Ginobli. If I'm Miami I don't leave the good knockdown 3 point shooters open for the others. On the flipside you know SA has to help out on Lebron and unless you have a total tree down low it takes a few players to do so. Leonard is one of the few people who can defend him decently one on one but even still, he isn't stopping or containing him.

And as the wise Mark Jackson pointed out, once you give the individuals and team as a whole a good rhythm they will start making everything. Spurs are having a historic half, even the few really tough shots they've taken are falling now.

Unbelievably poor defense to start and when a team gets hot then decent defense doesn't matter. Lebron only has 9 shots too. One of those games he should've known from the beginning that he needs to take over. 16 points on 9 shots and you have Lewis going crazy yet the Heat only have 50 points.

Lebron 10 shots in 3 quarters. The man's only possible weakness is that he is sometimes too unselfish. When your team is down big you got to take over and take it to the other team.
