Let's not pretend you are over 2011 or more recently the 2014 AO final. Let me live vicariously through my favorite player will ya ;)

Ah injuries to Rafa will always make a Fedfan happy. :snigger

You enjoy today, brother, I'm happy for guys like you, who've been waiting to see Roger find his game again... :clap

Best thing about a Roger victory? The reactions from Novak/Rafa fans.

Come on guys. He's an old man. Let him have a good win once in awhile lol.

I don't begrudge him it, House, though I'm surprised it was so straight forward. I think Roger definitely played a high level match and you'd be surprised how often I compliment your guy as a great player and example to others...

It happens though in their matchup. Rarely are both of them, at the same time, playing at a high level.

I was pleasantly suprised Roger won, but the score line didn't shock me.

I also would like to note that I wasn't calling you or anyone else out lol. It's just a funny reaction people have when he wins, when he isn't expected/suppose to.

Another big winner today is Marjan Vajda. Every time he's in the seat, Novak wins. When Ironhip sits down, Novak loses. I wonder if Nole needs help in spotting the bleedin' obvious, as Basil fawlty calls it...

I mentioned this yesterday; was it you who said Becker can take it? What about his fans? :nono Becker may have to go back into obscurity if this continues through FO; bad luck charm!

It was probably me who said that there was once a time in old Borgie's era when there was only a week between RG and Wimbo - is that what you're saying? :p

Not sure where I've said I was ever happy to see Rafa injured. I'm always happy to see the Balding Bull lose but I don't root injury on anyone unless I think they truly deserve it.

It is funny that not a single vote was cast for the actual result of this match.

Nobody deserves an injury, my friend, and certainly not what happened to Rafa in Oz, but I know what you mean... :)

Haven't seen one in tennis but in a sport like the NFL some do...the headhunters.

Ah right, that's the same as rugby, you see some viciously sly bass turds who could do with a taste of their own medicine...

Yep, those who go out of their way to hit high in the NFL ultimately always get a taste of their own medicine eventually.

Seeing the scoreline, I was very happy that we had company and was unable to watch the match. Congratulations Roger! Enjoy your date with the Stanimal. :celeb:

But Queens has been around for over a century! My mind just can't wrap itself around having all this activity after FO, playing Queens with a sat. final to allow winner at least a day! I just don't remember this much movement, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised, came across Nicolás Massú inthe stats under Olympic gold medalist in '04 S & D; I have no memory of him at all! My sleep apnea must be getting worse when I can't even picture a top 10 player with that kind of resume! I pride myself on going way back, maybe 40 years to pull matches and even individual points to relate, and to lose a whole player, I'm dying! :puzzled :nono  :cry

You and me both! I'm just "so over" that being the reason he loses match most of the time! Something has to be wrong with Nadal; only Nole can supposedly outhit him and run him off the court! I thought it was "bush-league" of commentators and anyone else who thought it was so appropriate to "mute" winning a major the way Wawrinka had to to spare the feelings of Rafa who was injured at AO earlier this year! How many times have we seen Rafa lay out, pumping in exaltation after winning a title when his opponent might be injured, under the weather, or grieving? Have never cared for the guy; just full of himself along with his fans! He can win everything until after I'm gone, it's still some of the ugliest tennis to watch; esp. vs clones like Ferrer, Verdasco, Almo, Lopez, & the rest of the Spanish contingent! Rafa/David match was long, unwatchable, and a true eyesore that put me to sleep! :nono

^ You might not be "over it" as much as you claim if you are putting astericks against the name of the players who go onto win the tournament he's been ousted from.

Just once, maybe twice with Chris Lewis of NZ making '83 Wimbledon final against McEnroe!* That was embarrassing for all concerned!

*John McEnroe, '83 Wimbledon Champion over Chris Lewis? Who? Everyone has one or 2 of those easy finals; Nole should have had one last year vs Ferrer at FO, but it didn't happen!

Where is Mastoor? I fully expect him to join and congratulate Fed fans. We're about to open page 9 and nothing yet. The day is long though and I'm patient.

I was going by the Wikipedia page 1974 tennis grand prix (5th edition)..:idea:I noticed queens was not there and maybe the 1974 wikipage was incomplete but I checked the winners roll of honour for queens since 1890  and indeed the tourney was not held in 1974/75/76 for whatever reason.
