I know where you're going alright, and I agree, Nole is a much bigger thorn to Rafa than Roger ever was, but give Rafa some credit: he goes through everybody to get his majors: Nole on hards, Roger on hards and grass. It's not like he's Federer waiting for Rafa to lose or get injured. He more than holds his own on surfaces people once thought were beyond him.

But I agree with you too, if Roger can knock Nole off a few times along the way, it's better for my nerves! ;)

Heck Rafa deserves a ton of credit, the guy is almost impossible to beat. Just saying that the particular match-up issue works well for him. And better for him than for others. Also, I still find it ironic that every win Federer has over players like Novak works in his disadvantage in the end (it hasn't happened all that much, but still)....

Speaking of which, I woulda liked Roger to convert a match point at Flushing Meadows in 2011.

As for the dames, who knows? I only watch if they're gorgeous, but I don't understand the tennis they play. Where do they hide all the players who can actually play when the match gets interesting?

I don't agree with this Denis(Heck Rafa deserves a ton of credit, the guy is almost impossible to beat.)
Rafa does deserves a ton of credit what he's done.

Actually, apart from RG in 2011, I'm at a loss as to a match where Roger has done Rafa a favour.

And I'm still not accepting it as fact that he needed Roger that year, for sure. But even if we grant that, I don't know any other examples...

It's a matter of degree of course. I mean 2011 RG stands out, as Rafa might not even have been the favorite if he would have had to face Novak.

But there are other examples which have made life easier for Rafa IMO. Recently his win over JMDP at the WTF gave Rafa an easy semi. But yeah, it hasn't happened all that much indeed.

No, you're not. I thought I'd voted but must've forgotten. I've gone for Murray in 3 as well. Quite possibly his usual drop the first set and win in 3 Houdini act. And the wind is a big factor alright with these two. Djokovic isn't a great wind player as we saw from the first 2 sets of their US Open final.

Gritty and hard flight so far. This could be another good one. This is Murray's home hard court in a way.

Pretty clean match so far thankfully. Not many wind related errors.
