I think it's great that the Serb fans are loud at the events! Once they're not disruptive or vulgar, then this partisan cheering adds more flavour to the event.

As for Nole fans here, the more the merrier. It's always good to see Nehmeth and Riotbeard, Herios, who are most often here. Denis drops by when he can. Missed-Here - sorry, Mastoor - is the funniest because of his sulks and trolling work in the excuse-field of PED's, but still, the more the merrier. By the way, I equate Mastoor with the now-banned NADALRG2005, and didn't mind having them around either...

More Clay death esque, IMO. Only fast grass achieved levels analogous to nadalrg2005. To be fair, mastoor has a good sense of humor.

Well, I don't know why NadalRG2005 was banned, but Mastoor's thread about Rafa "doping" was trolling of the highest order. Hence, the comparison. That Broken suggests he accused Federer of using PED's when he beat Djoker, tells me that his "good sense of humour" is a little pointed, to say the least...

Mastoor can be funny. That doesn't mean he's got a good sense of humor as the latter suggests you gotta be able to dish it out as well as take it.

To be fair, CD does present empirical fact compared to Mastoor's far out musings. The era of Murray's utter dominance has been confusing, as has been Nadal's utter inadequacy on hards since his return.

Well, that's true. But Rafa would have done much better if he had rested after last years Wimbo - as Clay suggested - and returned in time for Rio, this February... :nono

Cats sleep 70% of their lives. I don't think Rafa needs to, he's only 26.

Rafa is 27 about to turn 28 this June. Yup, time does fly by quickly :(

Without running Rafa to death, Nole totally controlled that match, stayed within himself, and allowed his opponent to self-destruct!

Rafa has done the same for Novak many times. It was nice to see him return the favor.

I don't remember him trolling anything like the doping thread, I just remember him being one-note all the time. But in fairness, when I see posts by guys like him and Mastoor, I skim them. Life is, indeed, very short. If I see some silliness has ensued, then I go back and often weight in... ;)

Sorry, forgot, it's Novak who's 26. But either way, resting from Wimbledon to Rio is preposterous.

That's it. It's the beauty of this rivalry. They're almost playing advanced chess on the court now, they know each other so well. Nole has been ascendent the last three times, so Rafa knows the drill. Knuckle down and give it back. It's not a rivalry where "ownership" has ever been definitively asserted by anyone...

That was Clay's prognosis. Stay off anything that was a little tough on the knees...

He was years late on the PRP mention as Nadal has been using this for years but the fact that it was banned before and legal since does make you wonder why it was originally banned. The way he wrote the accusation was trolling but actually the thread had some reasonable points.

He might as well use crutches 24/7 so ffs! Fact of the matter is, his knee has been fine for a over a year now so hopefully that's the end of silliness like that suggesting he shouldn't play for over half a year. Anyway, wasn't you who said it ;)

Isn't that what some suggest Nadal did in 2012? Okay, I kid, I kid, I don't want to go there again.

But, are you really trying to tell me that it would have been a bad idea for Nadal to take another 7 months hiatus and miss out on 4 Masters tournaments, 2 GS, and a WTF? You my friend, do not understand Rafa as well as Clay Death does. If Rafa followed his advice, he would have been 2 Masters titles, a US Open crown, a Doha title, a WTF final, and an AO final short. Clearly fishing in Mallorca would have been a better idea. Did you not see him hurt his back at the AO? All that time playing on cement is a clear reason.

In all seriousness, that post (the one made by Clay Death) still baffles me.

Had Rafa taken Clays advice, he wouldn't have hurt his back in Oz.

Fact.

So he was right!!! :clap

I said this back in 2011 and Nadal did amazingly well to prove me wrong, but I really think it will be Novak who will win the lion's share of their matches moving forward. Nadal's body will deteriorate, and given that the majority of the tour is played on hards, where Novak has the edge, he will close that H2H gap and perhaps even make it in his favor. I honestly believe that.

I'm still amazed Nadal managed to win 6 out of 7 matches from in 2012-2013, and it's a testament to his greatness, because things looked bleak in 2011.

On the contrary, I'd love if he'd taken another 7 months off. Maybe Fed could've won a few of those ;) Greedy Spanish ba$tard :D

That's nonsense. I've twisted my back reaching for a towel coming out of the shower. It was a back spasm nothing more. Or maybe you were kidding :D

After Nole's 2011 season, there was nowhere else to go but down! He was magnificent and that kind of perfection can't be sustained; ask Federer! I too believe Nole will start to dominate this rivalry and Rafa has to start breaking down! He gets into too many battles with nobodies and never-weres, going all out for 3 sets match after match!

Well, you maybe right, Broken. Rafa has had a few peaks and his comeback was extraordinary, but Nole at this stage has to have the sharper appetite. He has a lot more to gain and he'll be keen to make up for a couple of relatively unproductive seasons, if his own ambitions are the measure of these things.

We may also come to further rue the back injury in Oz, despite how well Stan played the first set. The inability to compete and therefore, the impossibility of winning, might be a huge spear in Rafa's momentum this year.

But we'll see. He's a factor everywhere and he's corrected this direction-shift before. If he still has the enthusiasm and hunger he showed on clay in 2012, and then last season up til Flushing Meadows, he'll turn this back around again...

Being #1 is hard to hold onto if you win everything in sight! There are just too many points that have to be defended; look at Nole in '12 after such a fantastic season in '11! The pressure and expectations have to be enormous!
