Djokovic played great yesterday after a sloppy start. The poll's closed of course but I would have voted for Novak to get it done in straights.

Nadal's clay court form doesn't appear to have sorted itself out but I still think he's got enough about him to reach the final at Garros, especially after what should be some confidence boosting early wins.

I've moved the posts which were basically early talk about RG into the -- you guessed it! -- "Early Talk about Roland Garros" thread.

Listening to late night news, comments about the flooding in Serbia. They inserted a clip with Nole, saying he is donating his prize money he earned in Rome to the victims of the disaster

:clap
I knew he will do it:heart:

Thanks for posting herios. He felt badly that the other Serbian athletes were able to be there to volunteer while he was playing the tournament in Rome. What a great idea to turn his work in Rome into a way to help his people.

Good on Rafa to allow Novak to win in order to make sure a larger sum of money goes to the Serbian victims. This man is a saint.

Seriously though, this is a classy humanistic gesture from Novak. I heard the UAE is donating 10 million bucks to Serbia, which is far better than spending their money the way they usually do.

This is yet another reason to commend Djokovic as a genuine man.

I tend to forget how much endured through his early childhood, too, with the NATO bombings and all. Come to think of it, none of the big four, or many other tennis players for that matter, have let fame, media exposure, and large sums of money get to them. This seems to be a rarity not only in sport but across all celebrity life.

For some reason, tennis seems to breed genuine blokes and ladies. I remember Pat Rafter once attempted to donate $2-3 million to charity anonymously before someone caught him.

Kudos to you, Novak, and, as Broken Shoelace said, for Nadal letting him win. :p

I am sure Novak will be willing to donate the RG prize money too. Let us see how much of
a saint is Rafa. You just reminded me of Andrea Jaeger

I know that she's a woman and all and we're not meant to mention WTA thingies here, but that Jaeger "confession" is the most barmy thing I'll read all year, more or less...

One disaster is enough.

yeah i give the biggest applause for those who would do it anonymously, unconditional willingness you know :clap. In this case, it would make Novak look very bad if he didn't do it..... no pun intended (if saying this offended anyone) but it's true.

Would not go too far with that them. Why do lot of tennis players like Agassi, Roddick etc
find supermodels to get married to. That surely is a statement of money getting to their
head.

hindsight or not, you don't know what I was saying during the match: "Come on Nole, do it for your folks". I want to think he was zoomed in thinking about them as well.
If someone thinks this way, could help him to take the pressure of himself.
That is why I was satisfied seeing the news release.

So does anyone know any good websites which keep track of the statistics of a match?

I'd like to see the stats of the last three games of this match. I think Novak won like the last 12 out of 14 points with something like 8 winners. Totally outclassed Nadal. Like the Rafa posters point out time and again: it's not about how you start a match, it's about how you end it. :snigger ;)
