If you are around.Someone on twitter has said that Garbine has withdrawn from Wuhan.I noticed she has withdrew earlier from her doubles match.I thought the reason being, she wanted to focus on her singles, seeing she is having a good run so far.Have you heard anything at all? I just tweeted a journalist I know who is covering Wuhun live and there is nothing from him at present.

In my mind, players like Serena, Masha and Ana play with controlled aggression like mentioned although Masha is a breed of her own.
There are other players that have no such boundaries, they take their shots, they don't construct points, they go for it.
The other day Mugu got 50 winners and 53 UE in a match, this match had 204 points total. This means Garbine attempted to go for it every other point, including return points.
Such players are not trained to construct points, they go for it.

Thats all true but they use power to be aggressive. This power didnt exist few generations ago, the new rackets also made it happen. The Williams started the use of power in women tennis.

Dont worry Kiu.I didnt check the SB at Wuhan.I see Garbine did withdraw as Elina won by retirement
Another player bites the dust at Wuhan.

WTA is so weird, I mean I am supposed to be down and depressed today because my player is in some kind of crises, but in reality I am happy with what I saw from her yesterday. Simona started to react from the shock of being no.2 in the world and she started to move her brain and she got down off her cloud. Now I am optimistic and its great seeing your player go for it and wanting it more. It will be interesting.
Knowing Simo, she will react in a positive way and she will not crumble under the pressure. I think that she even likes the challenge, its like catching fish in the water ;)
She really doesnt care about rankings, just give her competition and challenges. What a girl :)

:( shame, she could be in the final or even win it.
Of course I like Elina too. I posted good things about her 6 months ago, way before you started to do that :p
But Elina has limits and isnt a big hitter, Simona can always take her down.

I expected withdrawals and upsets, but this is getting ridiculous. The field is decimated. Whoever is healthy enough to still be here must be thinking this is a golden opportunity. Who will step up?

For some reason I expect all players to be healthy alive and kicking in Beijing :D
They are sympathizing with Li Na I guess, its weird. JJ wants to do shopping in Beijing.
Air pollution maybe? The players dont want to insult the hosts by complaining about the air? I have no clue.

Another seed bites the dust - Maria Sharapova lost 67 57 to Bacsinszky. Too many ue from Sharapova and an oponent who played the match of her life. A well deserved win IMHO.:clap

Something must be bad in the air or in the food in Wuhan! I'm hoping Woz isn't doing her marathon training outdoors :p!

I guess it's kind of to be expected that this happens at a late in the year tournament. You can't underestimate what a long year of tennis does to the body and even moreso the mind. If you're close to the end of the year and all you're thinking about is vacation, it must be hard to get up the motivation to play on.

All players will be healthy and fresh new in Beijing. I have no doubt. Women... ;)
Beijing is mandatory and lots of points are at stake unlike Wuhan.
The top players focus on Beijing not on Wuhan.

No need to play the match of your life against sugarpova. What you really need is strong nerves and desire.

P3tra P3tra.. if it goes to 3 sets you will lose this time. :nono Lets see if I am wrong
Simo also suffers from the P3tra disease :( she likes to rest at start of 2nd set and then lose the set.
It happened to simo about 3-4 times at least this year. Yesterday, against sugar, and more I cant remember.
A mental mistake.
