^ Stan was pretty bad in that match but Golubev is tricky to play against. Very aggressive. Stan's BH was particularly bad and he missed a lot of easy routine FHs too as we've come to expect from Fed at this stage. Besides his match against Karlovic not too long ago, Stan hasn't really looked in form at all to me since the AO. The constant stares he makes to his camp annoy the hell out of me too and always have.

Tonight I'm ashamed to be French, how is it possible ? Both Julien B and Jo played poorly

^ I didn't see either match but Tsonga's form has been especially poor lately so that's not a major surprise. Benneteau on the other hand has been very good lately so that was more of a surprise that he lost in straights. Maybe he's a bit burnt out. Been playing quite a bit.

That sure was a shocker. I thought France winning over Germany was a no-brainer.
I though France had the easiest tie among all the four ties going on. Germany had
a Z team playing and yet Tsonga finds a way to lose.

Anyway, this almost makes certain that Czech will be in the finals again.
I expect Berdych to play in both SF and F. This is because even if it is
a "away tie", it will still be withing Europe and not a arduous travel.

Glad that Fed at least won easily and relieved swiss of the pressure.

Now, I think Fedrinka will play the doubles.

This is the FIRST TIME ever that STAN got to play the opening match in
a DC tie in which Fed was also playing. The #1 player from the host country
plays the opening match. Even in the 1st round, Fed played the opening match,
as Fed was ranked ahead of Waw as of the date at which this gets determined.

Too bad that Stan could not keep Fed under his shadow.

Hope Stan finds his form again soon and playes better in SF and F.
His services WILL be needed in SF and F, even if not here.

Incidentally, the last time Kazaks played Swiss, Kazaks won 5-0 (Fed
was not playing in that tie).

Golubev and Kukushkin shouldn't even be playing here. They're both Russian :cover Damn corruption in sports.

Tsonga's form has been poor for a top 10 player, which he was for the last 3 years.
He is still a top 20 player and Gojo is ranked 119 and never been in top 100 before.
This is a shocker, no matter how you try to look at it. And Jo had a MP , which the "experienced Gojowczyk" saved:huh:

^ Gojowczyk took a set off Rafa at Doha where Rafa was playing well enough to win the title so I think he's being under appreciated 'cos at this stage Tsonga's playing nowhere near Rafa's level.
