I see Sloane gave up the lead and lost the match. Annacone has a lot of work to do if he wants her to be a champion.

There are other good wind players, I'm merely telling you who is the best.

I know K is gone, but I wonder if anyone has a feel for women who've played much in the wind? We have seen some of the top guys in it more than once. (Including here and USO, which seem to be two of the most regularly windy tournaments.)

Just about all of them played in that famous US Open.
I would pick Vika at her peak!
I'm back. The Bulls are blowing the doors off Houston. No way Vika is the best wind player. Wind exposes technique. If your technique is bad it only gets worse in the elements. Steffi would probably be the best retired wind player. As for current players, I would say Serena because of the serve and her ability to hit through the wind (athleticism). A close 2nd would be Aga because of her variety.

Wind doesn't favor the hard, flat hitter, and is a disaster for players with a high toss. It does, as you say, favor technique. Variety, for sure, and also spin. It also tests the player's mental sturdiness. I'll go with your picks, K.

Wow, didn't know they were that hideous but the wind in the 3rd set really added a lot to those numbers.

Yeah but she had no wind like this to contend with. Just slop for the sake of slop.

Not really Front. Sloane had 46 errors before the wind even started...

To show you how awful it was, she actually had less errors in the elements then she did the other two sets. :laydownlaughing
Her numbers were:
Set 1 = 21
Set 2 = 25
Set 3 = 19 :lolz:
