That was the most beautiful Bagel, I have ever seen. Even though I did not predict
Aga winning, I am truly happy for her. I hope she wins the trophy.

She felt so bad in Wimbledon last year that she did not capitalize the opportunity.
I hope she does it now.

All the way, Aga!!!!

Upsets continue. Great match from Radwanska. Silencing critics. (And I'm hoping that's the end of the upsets for today. :emperor: ) :snigger

Me too Mox! Is he next?

Don't ask us! we were all wrong here!

That is the beauty of it. As you were pointing out to me, Kiu, plenty like her game, but no one gave her a chance against the big hitting Azarenka. But guile and wonderful shotmaking won the day. :clap

I must agree with some posters above about Radwanska and her play against Azarenka. I think the word I'd use is SUBLIME--Aga was like a freak tennis machine. Honestly, I've not been left as stunned by a lady's play as I am with Aga tonight in a long, long time. She was astounding. Kudos to her and her team.

Hey Calvy, I would say that Wimbledon 2013 can still happen every now and then ;).

Not quite my friend, Radwanska is the number 5 in the world and former slam finalist, and don't forget, Li is ranked 3rd and a former slam champ.

So, not yet Wimbledon, now if Domi and Genie make the final, then we'll talk.

Congrats to Aggie. Missed the final set, but sounds like it was a wonderful display. Vika should be ashamed of herself. Defending champ eating a bagel. :cover

Even Serena, Maria and Ana put up a better fight.

First set wasn't much better. In fairness Radwanska contributed greatly to her munching a variety of bread products today. Breadstick in set 1 too. Azarenka will take some time to get over her yeast infection.

This is what I'm talking about! For too long, both the men and women have been lame allowing the top players to dominate! It's been about time some fresh blood got into these semi-finals; my only regret is Nole! I figured he owned this championship! Grigor has won the first set, but can he keep it up for 2 more? :clap  :puzzled

Correct me if I'm wrong, the last three slams have produced "fresh blood" in semi's?

Remember, we're only two slams removed from the Wimbledon that went topsy turvy.

Also, it was just a couple of years ago quite a few people were complaining there was too much parity in the womens game, and no dominate figure, now it's an issue?!

This was Vika's problem. Her mind set going into this AO was that she will be the one playing Serena in the final and she kept that mind set even when Serena was out of the tournament, while the other players saw an opportunity; not only to go as far as they can, but even winning the darn thing and therefore they went all out. However, Vika never changed her game plan and thus the end result.

Vika played so badly. With Serena gone, she should have seized the opportunity. I am not sure she could have beaten DC, but losing to Aga whom she thoroughly dominated in the past is a huge disappointment. Let's see how she bounces back from this.
