Ferrer playing with more aggression than normal and also winning some free points on serve which is surprising vs. Nole. Very unlucky net cord there still gives Nole hope in this set.

Djokovic's group in the World Tour Finals looks pretty draining. And here he is playing the grinder from the other group just before the World Tour Finals lol.

...to win a Masters title which your boy has never won.

Whew... I can't get the atp live score to open on my iPad. Wondering if Novak's first serve% is above 40.

Djokovic has made 58% of 1st serves. Ferrer 67%.

In a place that Nadal (and his Uncle) don't even want to be in. I'm sure they'll be happier now that its over and they can prepare to win those 2 matches to clinch the #1 (for the 3rd year).

Are you saying they tanked the semi??

Rafa tanked the final vs. Nole in Beijing so why wouldn't he tank the semi here.

He's prolly saying the result might have been different of Roger won the first semi... ;)

Novak doesn't need to turn the crowd against him.

Yeah, that's the essence of his success, and Nole is feeling it here. But expect him to raise it up a notch soon. Ferrer is clearly at the limit under great pressure and Nole can exert that!

Crowd seems pretty neutral so far. Smashing rackets doesn't help though.

This is where Ferrer might squeak. I think Nole has done well to keep close to him in this set, but this is the business end of things, and Nole is better at that sort of stuff...

He's exhausted out there. If he can't make a push to get this done in straights, I'm afraid Daveed will really run him around even more in the decider.

That's the problem with staying back all the time...even when players know they are getting a somewhat weak reply, they still wait ...One guy does not though, and he never lost to David.;)

That's a great point, Murat. Roger shortens the points better than anyone on a fast surface...

Just to be clear, I don't want to use the word "tanked," or claim that it's what Nadal did against Ferrer since there is literally no evidence of that, but we'd all be naive to think that none of the top tennis players went through the motions during a match, knowing fully well that they'll likely lose in order to either conserve energy, get a break, or whatever...

I think Nadal wanted to win, and it showed during his body language. But after a slow start in which he wasn't playing well at all, he didn't seem to give it as much effort as he normally does. Let me be clear, I'm not suggesting the outcome would have been different if he did (Ferrer has troubled him on hards more than people are willing to admit)...

I kinda feel like Ferrer has a better chance of taking this set on Nole's serve, than his own. That's how hard it'll be, regardless of how well he's playing...

Ferrer will serve for it, once again.
