For all the talk about how Nadal does everything better than Ferrer (and it's true), it's really Novak who's David's most awful match-up, regardless of the semi-respectful head to head.

I'd say Fed is/was quite a bit worse. David's flat shots look like cupcakes coming at him.

David Ferrer crushes Novak Djokovic 2.0 indoors in his best season, 6-3, 6-1

But David is 31 now (32 in April); will the World #3 beat Berdych, Nadal, and Djokovic in one tournament? :wow:

He is undefeated indoors against Nole (2-0), both in RR (Masters Cup, WTF).

The semis will be repeated day after tomorrow in London. Will that matter?
When either goes down a set, will they be sufficiently motivated to fight it out?

Paris fans will be behind David.

Good luck and may the best man win this prestigious tournament.

Respectfully,
masterclass

David will need the focus and intensity that he brought today, but the game plan is not exactly the same. However, if Djokovic comes out with the (lack of) focus and intensity he brought to the first 1.3 or so sets of the match today, he will get into trouble.

Ferrer's serve (while decent for a little fella) won't be close to what Roger's was that first set. Secondly I don't see him varying the spin off his backhand shot to keep Novak from getting his rhythm the way Roger did.

Skreech will have to be really out of focus and serve poorly for Farquaad to win this.

This. Novak in three. I'm taking the extra set as an insurance.

By the way: Novak will be ranked no 1 next week if he wins this tourney.:clap

It will be legit for me to type Nole No1e during the WTF!!

It would be! I was wondering if Nole would go back top if he win this. Thanks for clearing it up!

Thanks for that info, it does make sense that he would be since Nadal hasn't clinched the year end #1 yet. This will make Nole all the more difficult to beat today and I'll be surprised if it goes 3.

Not true. Ferrer flattens out his groundies better.

Ho hum another Paris title for Ferrer. Same old story here in Paris.

Yes, I think you're right. It would be great for Ferrer to double-up in Paris, because greater career highlights are likely to elude him, but he's not playing a newbie for this title, and Djokovic would have to give a lot of help.

Farquaad playing well. Skreech aiding and abetting.

Novak looks a bit tired. Took him a set to get going yesterday too...

This "story" only happened once before...There is another "story" that takes place in Paris every year...that would probably qualify for the "same old story" award, no?;)

Oh yeah, I forgot.

12 of the last 13 points to Nole.
