Serena in straights. It's no doubt about it.

@Kui I know you deeply want Serena to lose but JJ has no chance against Serena tomorrow...

It's like the half filled glass of water...

Serena in straights. She's had a day off while the other SF's are playing 3 days in a row. Whoever makes it out of the Li/Petra match will be feeling it tomorrow in the final.

JJ breaks early and gets ahead 3-1
Serena breaks right back and gets to 2-3
commentators think Serena is in pain and hurting...
For now Serena's serve is holding pretty good, earning her two games at ;love.

Something is wrong with Serena. She gifted a break over, but JJ gifted one back right back. Then she spent the change-over with her face buried in a towel.

Serena wins first set 6-4
Jelena wins second set 6-2

We are in the deciding set and the Ladies started by breaking each other's serve.

Three breaks in a row. Serena seems to be moving better, though.

Man, they love Serena in Turkey! There and Australia only do you see that much support for her. Interesting you don't see any of this in the US.

^ Any of what?

Anyway, gutsy win for Serena, but this is where I have a problem with Jelena...she was up a break in the first and gave it straight back. She had a wounded Serena and still couldn't capitalize on her chances. In fairness, however, I just don't know if anyone is tougher than Serena.

Moxie,

It might just reflect, that at 50 or 60 percent, Serena is just that much better than Jelena. Like I wrote earlier, this is not the Serena from 2007-2010. That Serena would have called it a day and let the match fall where it may. This Serena is very different.

Do us the honor Mox and start the Finals thread.
Unless someone else wants to do it, I think it's time one of Serena's fans step-up and do it.
This is your chance...

The overwhelming crowd support for Serena, they were squarely behind Serena. Even the commentator stated, the way Serena was playing, the crowd didn't know how to react, and when she turned it on in the third, they got crazy.

Admirable display of courage to play through the back injury. I hope for a quick recovery. I am happy with either finalist winning the title. Congrats to Li, the new world number three.

There is no indication it was a back injury, in fact she stated she was quite exhausted.

Calvy, You can't put to much stock in what a player says

when they put a mic in their face after a tough match.

Why let your opponents know how much you are hurting.

LOL..you can't put stock in what someone says about their own body? Really?

Fact is, she wasn't grimacing in the match or touching any area to imply it was an injury. Even her own camp seemed perplexed during the match.
