Poor Tsonga, the pressure got to him. He was never himself on the court and got incredibly tight. The French press have been talking about Yannick Noah and Tsonga possibly following in his footsteps for days. I found it utterly pathetic and primitive that a huge part of the crowd booed him off the court. What a disgrace. No matter how bad Jo played, he did not deserve that, in fact nobody does. Hope he can put this nightmare behind him quickly and respond convincingly at SW19 where he will always have a legitimate shot of reaching the semis/finals.

Oh, Didi...if they booed him I'll feel heartbroken. That would be so wrong. I'm sure that, to some extent, he had the kind of unnatural pressure that Murray has gotten at Wimbledon. That's a lot to deal with...the hopes of a nation. Anyway, I hope Joe shakes it off and has a great Wimbledon.

He surely has much better chances wt Wimby. I said it before this match, He is not a clay court player, like David is, BS disagreed that will matter much, when it comes to the power of his shots. Well, I was right, because he JWT couldn't make the best of his power yesterday, as he was kept camping in his left corner, most of the time, to practice his BH. Then wen he got a chance to hit a FH, he was eager thus he overhit it.

No, you misinterpreted what I said. I wasn't referring to Tsonga's overall clay prowess, and his future on clay. Obviously, it doesn't take an expert to notice that Tsonga, while improved on the surface, is not fully at ease, and lacks the necessary patience and point construction to go all the way on clay, or get consistent results.

What I said was saying that Fed's defeat was bad because Tsonga is not a clay courter is irrelevant given Tsonga's performance ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY, not his clay level in general. Meaning that with Tsonga serving the way he did, and hitting his forehand the way he did against Federer, it didn't matter -- in that particular match -- whether he was a clay courter or not.

Keep in mind, I picked Ferrer to beat Tsonga.

I didn't see any of the match but I am pretty bitter to say the least. Fed should have coasted to the final and even though the usual would likely happen it still would have been nice to at least be in the final to get a chance. Bad on Roger, simple as that.

Boy. that was horrible to watch. real horrible. now, of course, Ferrer's game was made to trouble JW, the i/o fh to the still weakish bh, blah blah...

and i love David, he played great...

but that was one of the most thoroughly disappointing performances i've seen, ever. yes, Jo let the pressure get to him... but Boy, did he embrace the helplessness. he basically stopped playing halfway through the Second set. seriously, there were so many rallies where he just put the ball in play, didn't run for shots, defensive fh slices on rally shots.

as Col. Kurtz said - the Horror, the Horror.

sorry, but it was just so thoroughly disappointing to see this performance.
