Match-ups are a b&*%h...here is Tsonga who just demolished Roger, being schooled on clay by Ferrer whom in return only won 2 sets on clay against Roger and never a match.

Well, David showed up to play. Now we are waiting for JTW. That would be a huge disappointment if he does not show up.

Welcome JW...sorry we had to start without you. Grab a drink, a volley, whatever...;)

Huge inside-out forehand from JW to save a break point. Risky as hell but...

David returns great today.

David wins 4 games in a row...Df on break point by JW

Chair ump is like a yo yo...up and down, up and down...

Killer drop by David...gets a bp but JW erases it with a big serve...

Nice point...David will feel like he should have broken here...credit to JW though.

Ok, points are getting more interesting by the minute...

Huge hold from JW to go up 6-5 in the second. David had great chances to break. He cannot get nostalgic about that game though, he has to hold his own now...

Tie-break it is...

Ferrer=consistently consistent, Tsonga=hot , cold , brilliant, average...

David closes the set out with another deadly dropper.

Can Tsonga come back now? Only tennis gods know, but David is so focused right now...

David Ferrer is just too consistent for Tsonga especially on this surface.

By the way, Ferrer has reached four of the last five Grand Slam semifinals.

David with two more break points. One saved with a nice serve out wide...the second one saved by an amazingly gutsy kicker out wide...One more BP though...and this time David gets it...

Tsonga making not so clever decisions right now...

What the heck did Tsonga do in those two days off? He looks like he just played a marathon match yesterday. He has no energy at all in this match!

I don't know but he was talking about drinking something bubbly after the Federer win...;)

David with a killer pass to get an MP...

David Does It ! First slam final ever...Seriously, has anyone deserved this more than this guy?

Has not lost a set, stayed on court just about two hours, fresh as a daisy...Those are pretty much the only things on his side right now...But if I am him , I am thinking " I have already achieved a first, I am playing great, and I will play against a guy who ran around the court for 5 hours...Let's go out there and see what happens..."

Heartbroken for Nole and ecstatic for David. That is how I feel right now.

Sorry about that, herios. I'm also ecstatic for Ferrer! So well-deserved for him to make a Slam final. I didn't see one ball struck in this match. Was JWT just overwhelmed...either by the moment? Or the opponent?

Both. Ferrer was in the zone, and Tsonga seemed overwhelmed by the occasion.

I saw very few games at the end of the second set, but it was enough for me. David had very few UE, he was precise and relentlessly exploited JWT BH.

I was not able to watch live, looking forward to watching it on replay.

When you see Tsonga's stat (UFE's), it makes you realize that Grand Slams really are more like marathons... how difficult it is to maintain such a high level of play for 2 weeks.

And just how good Fed, Rafa, Novak and Andy have been over the last few years.

Didn´t see any of this match and was expecting a Ferrer win but those are some ugly stats for Tsonga and quite phenomenal low UFEs for Ferrer. Wow! Really. Tsonga has never in his career yet impressed me by backing up a great win. Beat Fed in style, falls flat here. Beat Fed in Wimbledon, lost next match. Beat Nadal in an amazingly dominant match in AO ´08 and was nothing like that against Djokovic in the final. He needs to really work that out. Obviously a much more consistent player than Gulbis but reminds me of him in that one huge win is followed up by a flat poor match. Example, Gulbis knocks Berdych out in fashion at Wimbledon and badly loses next match. Please Tsonga try and string together at least 2 big wins in a row against top 10 players. I´m sure he´ll play on grass anyway. Congrats to Ferrer on his first grand slam final at age 31. Quite an achievement for a late bloomer. Such a consistent player last few years and thoroughly deserved.
