I do believe Haas can win this, but I think Nole will come out super focused and impose his own game and win it in 3 or 4. Of course , I want Nole to win and play the semi against Rafa, where he wins 17-15 in the fifth, after 6 hours of play.

Yeah and i want beside all that that to see Fed taken out by Tsonga and then David to top him, so he makes his first slam final against Nole, I hope you like that scenario:D

The scary thing is this is a real possibility.

Then it's worse than you think, because Nadal takes out Djokovic, and it's a Nadal-Ferrer final. Well, that would free up your Sunday, anyway. ;)

Any final with Nadal in it will free up my Sunday. Didn't watch Fedal 2 years ago and wouldn't watch it here either. Part of that is superstition, the other part is...why waste a few hours assuming the usual happens. Their GS matches have been a joke since Wimby 08

Be careful, David leads the H2H with JWT 2-1, 1-0 on clay...

A joke to you, but not to me. At the very least one of those was a highlight of Nadal's career. That's a bit sour, isn't it? You're fully entitled to dislike Nadal, and begrudge him all of his wins, especially over Roger. But the first one he won on HCs, when no one ever thought he would, and after that SF v. Verdasco...it's a bit small to call it a "joke," isn't it? Federer's career is so obviously admirable, but what Nadal has done is, too. Don't take down his wins over Federer by relegating them to the level of joke or anecdote...I think that's beneath you.

It was an easy win. I am not you and am not a fan of Nadal so why would I look at things from that perspecitve? From my perspective Fed was mentally out of it from the beginning and Rafa didn't even have to play average on his worst surface to win going away.

If you consider a 5 set match an easy win. I guess I hadn't considered the depth of the animosity of even the reasonable Federer fan, which I consider you to be, about that match.

I have not been happy about that string of finals that Djokovic won against Nadal, either, but I wouldn't call them a "joke." That would be inelegantly denigrating to the talent of the other player. Consider that, from my perspective.

it is written in the wind..

djokovic's recently departed coach told 'mr action-man-hairdo' he had to focus and he has to win the French open,

he will win..the stars beyond the heliosphere are sparkling for 'noel'

the ghost of the recently departed will guide him to his ultimate victory..

it is written in the wind,

SO MOTE IT BE.

I saw that movie, "Written on the Wind." It didn't end well for most of the characters.

Good film, though. :clap

you forgot to add that Rafa-Novak is pushed to Saturday afternoon because of rain, or because of sun or whatever - either way, they don't finish before 8.45 pm Saturday. Tsonga/Ferrer (or Tommy R, for what it's worth) gets a straight set hitting session win on Friday afternoon.

even then, i think i might go with the winner of Rafa v Novak if i had to put money on it, i'm afraid.

on topic - i'd love for Haas to make this a challenge, and he basically has the game for it as well. but it ain't happening. think Dimitrov, really, just substituting "lack of experience" for "abundance of experience (ie being old)", and you got a clear winner. if Haas catches fire, he takes a set.

gentile? or gentle? ;)

I'll leave it open for interpretation :)

EDIT: OK, I googled the word "gentile" and has a different meaning than I have seen it used as. Apologies if I have offended anyone, I'm afraid I shall never master the English language. So in hindsight my original post was a typo and meant to say "gentle" :)

I'm surprised this match is on Lenglen and not Chatrier. Although I hope Stan can make a couple of nice shots, the Djokovic - Haas match is expected to be tighter right? Or is everybody thinking this will be a blowout too?

I had a look too and it seems gentile is an Englsih word indeed that means non-Jewish meaning Christian or pagan, the one who is not a Jew. How disappointing to learn that from someone point of view you [meaning Mastoor] are gentile.

I would say that you were misunderstood when you talked about Fedal rivalry. I don't find their matches in last 5 years interesting neither even though I don't favour any of them. I liked watching either in many other matches just not against each other.

Indeed they could have had all the men matches at Chartrier and women at Lenglen.
