The Tournament:

The Canadian Open (also known as the Canada Masters, and known as the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank for sponsorship reasons) is an annual tennis tournament held in Canada. The men's competition is a Masters 1000 event on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tour. The women's competition is a Premier 5 tournament on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tour. The competition is played on hard courts.

The events alternate from year to year between the cities of Montreal and Toronto. In odd-numbered years, the men's tournament is held in Montreal, while the women's tournament is held in Toronto, and vice versa in even-numbered years. Before 2011, they were held during separate weeks in the July–August period, now the two competitions are held during the same week in August. The Toronto tournament is held at the Aviva Centre, York University, and the Montreal tournament is held at the Stade Uniprix. Src: Wiki

About Toronto

Toronto, the provincial capital of Ontario, Canada, is a large, ethnically diverse city sprawling along Lake Ontario's northwestern shore. A dynamic metropolis with a core of soaring skyscrapers, all dwarfed by the iconic CN Tower, it also features abundant green spaces, from the orderly oval of Queen's Park to 400-acre High Park and its trails, sports facilities and zoo.

Interesting to see if Caroline finally record a win in Toronto. She has won the tournament in 2010 - yes but that was in Montreal where the tournament is played every second year - she's never won in Toronto - a little curiosity -eh? ;)

Just watching Lepchenko vs Ostapenko. Ostapenko is either playing like a flawless (more or less) Formula 1 machine or playing like a foodwagon drifting on its own - so it has been until now - let's see what she's playing like in third set. 61 67 until now. 9 df in second no aces. Last set 76 for Lepshenko so the #12 seed is out to a qualifier.

And then a little to her attitude. No sign for new balls. No look handshake after the match. She can win as many tournaments she like but I'll newer be a fan of her if she continues her bitchy attitudes.

Kuznetzova v. Bellis could go either way. Also, Cibulkova v. Safarova.

@Moxie I had the wrong schedule up. The matches you referenced were played today. Sveta and Cibby sent to Cincy
Ah, thanks. Hard to keep up with it all and actually work. I see Bellis is still in. And Mugu. Beyond that, I guess I'll leave it for others.

It is funny to see folks predicting the outcome of matches that are already over. It would be funnier if they got the predictions wrong even after the match is over. :lulz2:

I think the general fault is, that people aren't reading the posts that have been made.
