My money is on her brother doing the dirty deed.
Tyrion? I could live with that. Although I wouldn't be shocked if the brothers kill each other, Jaime coming to Cersei's defence. And Arya slipping in and killing Cersei while Jaime is incapacitated with grief

Actually, I was referring to Jaime, but wasn’t clear. I think that’s why he left Ser Brienne — to kill Cersei, which would also save his own life, by removing Bronn’s motivation.

That would be something! Maybe he thinks no one else has the right to kill his twin but him. He’d better not get in Arya’s way though

Exactly: no one else has the right, and no one else has the potential to get close enough to her, and not first get killed by the Mountain.

Ah! now you see... that's why I think it's Arya. The Hound is coming for the Mountain. He'll have his hands full as she does the deed. And if anything Brienne will follow and be compelled by her vow to kill Jaime when he tries to get in Arya's way :)

I’m wondering if the whole thing is going to end on a shot with the final characters dead near the iron throne.

Last nights episode was great! I think it's going to be Jaime that kills Cersei. He's not heading back there to protect her, that's for sure. And again...damn what a character Jaime is. I almost wanted him to stay back with Brienne but that clearly was never going to be in the cards, at least not yet. The scene with Bronn was pretty good and I still have a feeling he helps one of the bros out in some capacity. He won't admit he actually likes the chaps, at least not enough to prevent him from smacking a dwarf :)

Only question is whether it's Tyrion, Jaime or Arya with one of their faces. I have a feeling Arya and the Hound are going to team up to take out the Mountain.

I've always felt that Arya's greatest obsession was killing Cersei. It's going to be interesting to see what happens! It's building up nicely

I actually never really saw it that way. Anyways I hope it ain't Arya because that means Tyrion or Jaime is dead (if not both). Definitely that prophecy will play out, it may just have a twist to it (Arya wearing one of their faces).

One of the dumbest things I read. People seem to think GOT should play out based on how they want it to go. And I think part of what I haven't liked about season 8 so far is that they've done a lot of things that I'd qualify as "fan porn" already.
Lol! I know that's well documented. My one gripe was the lack of drama between Bran and the Night King. I've always felt that Arya is the Stark assassin so as I said before... get ready to be pissed if she sticks a knife in Cersei's back

No surprises to hear that big name deaths will one of the features of this coming episode.

What do you say to death... "Not today" ... I don't think that's going to help many members of the show in this one.

Penultimate episode tonight. This is going by in a flash.

I’m sticking with my prediction that Jaime is going to kill Cersai (but probably not tonight). Arya has had her big kill.

Not sure about Tyrion. I’d love to see him survive, but I also suspect the writers are going to take more of shock and awe approach.

I am not reading this thread for fear of spoilers, but I had to drop in for this: went to the opera at the Met last night for the finale of the Ring Cycle. I hadn't seen the first 3 operas, and had a deep fear of being lost (and enduring the 5 1/2 hours.) No worries! it's like trying to follow GoT and Lord of the Rings. If you don't feel deeply invested about understanding every moment, it can be enormously pleasurable. Wagner is kind of the Mother of these Norse-based myth epics.

Pretty awesome IMO. I think they nailed it. Even if the season naturally feels rushed I felt like this one had the proper impact even without there being too much of a shock factor. I will wait to say more.

It was certainly epic. I'll grant you that. But I have objections to this one. It felt like the writers overdid it with the mescal the night before. This was a bit loose to me. It's like all the work developing a character was just thrown out with the bathwater. I'll go into more detail when the consensus is that we can talk about it

The episode aired two days ago, so I think it’s OK to discuss, but for those who want to avoid spoilers for episode 5, don’t read anymore.

I take it you mean Jaime & Cersei? If that really was their end, I’m annoyed too. After eight seasons of buildup, it would be silly for some metaphorical death: “... and their kingdom fell down upon them.”

I have a feeling they’re going to survive that, and we’ll see them in the finale. After all, Jaime was stabbed multiple times, yet managed to walk all the way to Cersei, then go back down below with her, prepared to make their escape. It would be cruel for the producers to deny us seeing Cersei’s execution — or survival, sitting on the Iron Throne.
