Hi, yes...I've just got back from Atlanta on an all-consuming shoot. Vaguely looked at the draws. I think there's still time for the draw challenge. Do people want a separate thread for it?

On first glance I see a lot of possible upsets in the 1st Round.! There are some stunning match-ups that the top players better be "on ready!" :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Moxie,

If you are around I cannot get into either the mens or women draw challenge and also the video of the draw challenge says it is unvailable on both the ATP and WTA

Hmm....I got in and can fill in the brackets:

From this opening page, select "Groups"in the tool bar find Discuss Tennis. Can you do that?

That’s the truth, brother! I’m worried about Rafa. Certainly his first round match will tell us a lot. There could be an upset. He could win in straights. It could be a brawl. He’s got no form and has barely played since Wimbledon. I hope he’s been improving in training..,

Well at least yesterday Rafa had a practice against a lefty, young Ben Shelton, though he has a good record against left handed players.

Novak Djokovic cancelled his practice session yesterday and is still complaining about his hamstring injury, strain to the media... and hopes his hamstring wont play up during the AO...

The way Djoker plays, a hamstring will be a near impossibility for him. This is a bloke who stretches the last few yards rather than run them…

Oh well he won the Adelaide tournament with a hamstring injury/ strain if it was that bad he would have withdrawn, knowing the AO was 1 week away.

3 players can become No 1 after the AO,

Ruud winning the title or reaching the final, as long as Tsitsipas dosent beat him in the final ( they are on opposite sides of the draw)

Tsitsipas will become No 1 by winning the title

Djokovic will become No 1 winning the title.

If by chance, those 3 players do not win, Alcarcaz stays No 1 player.

Well this is why I’m wondering about this hamstring. It’s very difficult to play with a hamstring tear, it’ll only get worse if it’s already bothering him…

Well that is his choice to play on, in Adelaide he received treatment on it in the SF, took a MTO, and played on and won
Novak has a full time physio travelling with him.If a hamstring tear is that bad, you cannot play on full stop., a strain is different, you can received treatment, remember he has a day off between matches

Novak's "discomfort" means that he is 99.9 percent ready which is good enough to defeat anyone in the world including Nadal
