How was Novaks “hamstring?” Is this a strategic injury, or a real thing?

He had some black tape on it, if it was that bad, a hamstring, you would not be able to play,? footballers have hamstring injuries and they are off for sometime. As I said before he played the final in Adelaide and won, if it was that bad he would have withdrawn?, he said he got treatment in Adelaide on it....
Being a exho Novak didnt over do it, both players having fun, Nick K won

He's 35 and having to compete vs kids! I believe Nole has aches & pains all the time like Rafa, but doesn't use them as a crutch when he does lose a match! I wish both would stop it & just play the game! If hurt, don't play! It's just a way of stealing thunder of the players able to beat them IMO! ;-)

Well then there was no need for Novak to keep mentioning his strain on his hamstring 3 times in Adelaide and then still went onto win? even had a MTO off the court for his hamstring and came back to win his SF match.Novak also said if he got worse he would withdraw from the final? so if it is just a pain why did Novak keep mentioning to the press in Adelaide? if it is was that bad Novak would have withdrawn from the final, knowing that the AO was a week away.
The funniest comment came from Nick K last night in their exho match was when he does win a GS title he will retire, he said it is hard work on the tour, he prefers to eat and drink what he wants :) thats our Nick K

Before the Semis on both sides, looks like any ESPN coverage past 2 AM ET will require ESPN3/ESPN+. Time to stream again like last year. :lulz1:

I don't need to see it live! It's why I have DTV streams on a loop! Not sure how much longer I'll watch the tour after Nadovic retire! With so many top women falling by the wayside, I have little to no interest! I'm enthusiastic to see how Holger & Carlos progress though! Players like Khachanov, Hurkacz, Shapovalov, & Kyrgios have so disappointed me after looking so good early on! :fearful-face: :thinking-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Kieran,

Well even the top overseas journalists eg Chris Cleary who writes for the New York Times, was in attendance at the exho between Nick and Novak, he even commentated that Novak's hamstring appears okay, so Novak mentioning many times in Adelaide, has caught their attention, even though he won the tournament, it does set up for a good narrative and head line if Novak's does win his 10th title at the AO...." Novak Battles A Hamstring Injury and wins his 10th title at the AO :) I have other sub titles as well, though I will leave that for another time:)
