Funny, I hadn't thought about the irony of the name. Corona is a town in Queens, of course.

Also in tennis-related Covid-19 news, the Billie Jean Tennis center will be used to install 350 hospital beds, and also to prepare thousands of meals for health care workers, school kids and the elderly.

The All England Club (Wimbledon) are now making its grounds if needed and the French Tennis Federation is using the national training center near Roland Garos for recovering COVID-19 patients.

He says he bumped Borg in favor of Djokovic. And he wasn't happy to do it. It get it, though. You have to bump somebody. Borg, Laver or Sampras? Personally, I think Borg was a greater player than Sampras, and more influential on the game. But follows on to what @El Dude says that it's not all about the Majors. Sampras is in because he has 14 Majors. And a great serve. Laver is Laver. Borg quit early.

My qualm with the list is they're calling it a top 10. Even I don't pretend we need to compare the women and the men, and they don't even try. It's two top 5 lists.

I see last Laver list was made in 2012 ! I hope he made another list, never know when he might pass away. Might be in safe. Seem contries are moving back to normal in Europe. Production will restart, even kindergardens will be opened. With start of May much will work. I hope same will be with sport.

I just saw a report that the AO is making preparations for a fan-free AO in 2021, with strict rules for health checks and places to keep athletes housed separately. It was just a blurb on Tennis Channel, but I took it to mean that it was a "just in case" we're not over all this by next January?

It's interesting to note that some "smaller" countries such as Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands don't get the media attention but they have been hit hard. Even Germany, no doubt the most prepared and advanced of all the European Union, with early testing and the highest hospital beds per capita, has over 100,000 active cases and over 2,000 deaths.

These are some of the scenarios the AO are looking at in 2021 if the restrictions of the coronavirus are still in place,

Playing the event with no spectators.,if mass gatherings are still not allowed or severely restricted next year,the AO is looking at the possibility of running an event for broadcast.

Due to a high dependency on international travel,the AO is looking at what they might have to do if players need to be quarantined for any length of time before being allowed to freely move around Australia.

I wonder if this lingers into late into the Fall or next year. All the players who recently retired or announced their retirement e.g. Sharapova....maybe they will rethink it now because they all have an opportunity to let those nagging injuries heal if that was the primary reason they wanted to hang it up.

If I sit down and do the full calculation, the total would boil down to more or less the same as what they will get paid by the insurance company.

I am certain the premium on the insurance will rise due to the pandemic.

That is an important point as well. If you include all of the factors, I personally think that this insurance is waste of money.

Of course, not. Moreover, these being gig work, typically they will not even be compensated by any govt. hand offs.
