No capital Z? Is that intentional? ;)

Novak, obviously...or not? The H2H is tied at 2-2, with Zverev winning the last at the World Tour Finals in 2018. All four of their matches have been relatively straightforward two-setters...they've never played at a Slam.

Anyhow, I think Zverev will surprise, maybe even win a set, but will fold in the end, perhaps petulantly. I predict at least one broken racket. Something like 6-7, 7-5, 6-3, 6-1.

^not intentional. A bit of a rushed job. Just to get the thread there for tomorrow.

I suspect we have a match here. Zverev knows this one win would "erase" all his previous failures at majors and will give his all probably... of course this could backfire terribly as well. Djokovic is the worst possible opponent for someone who is rushed and/or flushed (translations, translations... could not find a word for Portuguese's "afobado").

Zverev is due for a better showing in a Major, and I do hope it comes tomorrow. (I won't even pretend that that's not an agenda-driven comment.) Two intangibles that I can see: Zverev is desperate to prove that he's a player in the Show. Djokovic, if AZ does make some noise, has the pressure of the Nole2 Slam. Could get complicated, but ND will prevail.

Repeating his QF is already a big achievement for Sasha. However, he had lost enough sets on the way to all kinds of weak players. He played two five setters already. The good news for Sasha will be that this will be just a three setter.

Novak in three!;)

Repeating his QF is not what Alex is looking for. The H2H is 2-2. Zverev, in this case, has the house money. And he's 21. I think he'll trouble Djoker.

I honestly think it's going to be more complicated than that.

I agree, Moxie. Sometimes (even often) people develop by taking a step back before taking two steps forward. Zverev plateaued in 2017-18 before really struggling the first half of this year. But I think he's pulling himself out of his hole and may come back stronger than before, and a legit Slam contender.

Now i don't think he's going to win Roland Garros, but I do think he'll "trouble" Novak.

I do think he's a legit Slam contender. (Not this year at RG, though.) And as much as all he really should be thinking about at the moment is Djokovic, I think he's got Tsitsipas and Khachanov and FAA, etc. in his sights, too. He's got a lot on the line in this match, and I'll be surprised if he doesn't fight hard for it.

Rooting for Sascha but Djokovic will likely book his place in the semi. I'd give Sascha a better chance over three sets.

Heart: Novak
Head: Novak.

3:1, the fake German will unfortunately take one set.

Hope Novak shows his A-Game, thats enough for almost evry opponent (except the bull on slow clay-court).
If its his B-Game , things will get complicated and tiring.
