K has no chances of beating Rafa. K is a violent ball bashers that is too erratic. But, K will surely have some brilliant moments.

Yeah I do think Khach has very limited upside, he's a total ballbasher. Fun to watch but the peasant will get enough balls back to win comfortably. Hopefully he moves Nads around a lot though.

He's a lot better than Paire. I like Karen and I'm actually a bit surprised he's done half-way decent this year. I don't really see someone like that ever becoming relevant but I hope to be proved wrong.

After owning Roger for most of their careers, it appears it's been Djokovic that has been the GOAT's best ally keeping Nadal's resume in check so far! He's eaten into a lot of majors and clay events Rafa could have inflated his record with! Roger should be rather thankful because things might have been very different but for our savior of tennis history, NOLE!  :ptennis:
That misses some context. First both Djokovic and Nadal are more than 5 years younger than Roger. On top of that the sea change from the pre-topspin to the topspin era gives the younger two an edge, they grew up in it. Djoker is certainly no 'ally' of Roger. He snatched 3 slam finals and 4(?) SFs. So his absence would have put Roger at at least 24. So even assuming Nadal got extra slams without Djkovic he'd be chasing a bigger target. Another hidden assumption is that Nadal would have won all those matches he lost to Djokovic, had it been *anyone* else. Not sure. Best example is Stan. He won AO 2014, we all thought it was a gimme for Nadal. Whoever gets to a GS F/SF will not be easy to take out.

So the assumption Roger would have at least 24 isn’t a gimmee either, following that logic.

Nole has lost something like 8-10 finals/SF to both Roger and Nadal. Doubt he considers himself in his place in history as a “ spoiler”.

What is more likely at this point is that while Roger is nearing the end of his competitive days, Rafa and Nole *may* have anywhere from 2-4 or even more years to battle for Majors. Their final tally may be far from over, thus Nobody should be looked upon merely as a placeholder for another to ensure or protect their current lead.

Wouldn’t be shocked if both Rafa and Nole end up with 20 plus Majors.

It wouldn't be that much of a leap seeing as the Next Gen's keep disappointing us! The talent has been unmistakable, so I have to say the last decade or so have produced a bunch of mental midgets and serious underachievers! :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:

Kyrgios unfortunately woke up after sleeping through the first set and a half. I am hoping he has to play five sets.

I'm hoping he loses but honestly the guy is a clown and one that Roger should be able to handle if he's playing/returning decently. Fed needs to seize the moment, carpe f*ing diem, because his legacy is at stake.

The butterfly effect in tennis is very
strong. I was just thinking that Herbert getting broken serving for the set could have big implications. If Kyrgios beats Fed and then Rafa wins the title that single game could determine the final GOAT. The winner of the race may come down to one random point in a match with none of the players involved. For instance IStomin saved four match points in the 2017 Asia Pacific Wild Card tournament. Maybe if he hadn’t Djokovic would have won the whole tourney and who knows what might have happened then.
