Will Roger show us a decent performance against Youzhny, now? I hope so.

I think he'll be better than the first round simply because he's more comfortable opening a can of whoop ass on Youzhny because he's been doing it for nearly 20 years...

Roger can't complain neither, his supposedly most tough opponents are already out

Definitely can't complain about the draw. Some of us will be hoping his back holds up and some of us will be hoping it won't.

Roger did say in the press conference after the TIafoe match that he wouldn't have played the tourney if he thought his back would get worse instead of better, so he sounded optimistic about progess. Of course he also admitted that his prep was non-existent, he was much rustier than he wanted to be, that he had a problem judging distance (hence all the big whiffs), that he was too "up-and-down," etc., etc. At least he's not fooling himself that he didn't play like crap and isn't lucky to still be in the tourney. Self-awareness is good, right?:lol6:

Hopefully he is being honest about that but this is a major so even if he's far from 100% he may still be willing to give it a go especially with how things have turned out this year. I hope his movement in sets 1 and 4 were about trying to save his back. Set 3 was like watching a completely normal Fed and then minutes later you'd think he substituted himself out for an old, fat beer-chugging fan at the start of the 4th set.

Sir Grigor trying to puke up another set from a winning position. This looks like the Grigor we are used to :negative:

Not really, Tiafoe is American. The Canadian got a lot of support vs JowillieTs.

Jo Willie ain't Fed. I actually was surprised Tiafoe got as much love from the crowd as he did. You know Roger is basically treated like an adopted American here.

Who would have thought that Kyrgios wouldn't make it through to face Federer.

This is just your usual bullshit. Kyrgios hasn't reached a fourth round in Grand Slams since 2016 Wimbledon.

I think winning Cincy has put it into Grigor's head that he's a contender. Totally messed him up!

He is still Grigor. He took advantage of the depleted Cincy field, faced Sugita in the QF instead of Fed. I was foolish to think he could take advantage again.

So 4 whole slams without reaching the 4th. And of those 4 when was he up against a field as depleted as this?

In one word, it seems after Wimbledon no one can win two tournaments in row

Grigor in H U G E trouble. Rublev is on fire right now. However, like his retired compatriot, Safin, Rublev is insanely emotional. I think he will crumble under the pressure, his level can drop for sure, and Dimitrov will just feast on the remains.
That is, if he is still mentally in this match.

Also, as soon as you are registered as a pro, it is not an upset to beat Berdych anywhere at this point. Literally. No matter your rank.
How that guy has fallen off, calling him a placeholder now would be the compliment of the century.

IIRC Feli Lopez got married to his long-time girlfriend in 2015 just before Cincy...so don't tell his wife that. She probably wouldn't be too happy to hear a rumor like that.

IIRC, the marriage lasted less than an year and ended up in divorce. I don't know what is the reason and in particular whether the rumor is the reason.

Men and women were probably throwing themselves at his feet! Lopez is one hot specimen! It's hard to keep saying no; even if married to a childhood sweetheart or in this case a model! Look at Tiger Woods; his ex was stunning and gave him 2 beautiful children! It didn't stop him from dipping his wick in porn stars, waitresses, and even a young babysitter of his kids! That's why they call it a mistake when they had every opportunity to a avoid it! According to article posted below, Alba said he had 200 mistresses with photos, documentation, etc.! The marriage only lasted 11 months! :nono:  :cuckoo:

...and out goes Dimitrov to Rublev. Anybody who really thought Dimitrov had a shot to win this Slam - or any Slam - needs their head examined. :lulz1:
