2. Gilles Simon - Liked the fact that he came from a non-athletic family, carved out his own place among the French players, fights til he has nothing left in the tank and always hits above his weight.

What has frustrated me about Simon is the fact that he could have been so much better. If he had built up his body and developed a transition game....

:cover That and his tendency to make easy victories into marathons early in a tournament.

We'll never know what he might have done. He is a guy who's always followed his own path, wherever it's led him. Of all the people on tour other than Novak, he's the person I'd like to get to know.

Simon is a counter puncher and/or pusher. I don't usually enjoy watching his matches. I am actually surprised that multiple people like him.

I like him too. His racket weighs more than him but he can rally until the cows come home. He does tend to be whiny at times though. Where was that? Earlier this year, he was complaining about the towel the ball boy gave him smelling bad. :snicker In 36 years of following tennis, I don't think I've ever heard that.

One time about a dirty towel qualifies for "tends to be whiny"? :snicker That's just stupid. I've followed him for years and I don't remember him ever complaining about something without reason.

Obviously that was an example of how I've seen him on tour in the past. Your stupid-o-meter seems to be jacked up a bit.

Current:

1. Novak (Like his style of play plus "against the world"/"publicity underdog" thing :))
2. Andy (Same as above plus I realy like his f bombs and arguing with his raquet lol)
3. Rafa/Fed (due to respect ofc ;) Rafas fighting spirit/Feds playing beauty)

All time (well in my case from mid 80's)

1. Agassi (that 80's lol cheesy hair/wig cut, rave like clothes and style of play ofc)
2. Lendl (cold as ice with amazing determination/constantly improving)
3. Mac/Sampras (due to respect ofc ;) Macs on court behaviour/Sampras attacking style)

There's no "stupid meter" Jax. A Murray fan choosing to pick out a stinky towel incident as his one example of a player being "whiney"?? :laydownlaughing

1. Edberg was my favorite player
2. Mac for his game (not the other craziness)
3. Vilas a clay court master.

Honorable Mention: Guga - loved the way he hit the ball

Haha. Well, we were talking about Simon. I did say I like him. Most of the time. And Murray? Now there's a treasure trove of goodies in that one. Murray is the master of whine! But his style is entertaining for me. ;)

For me it's:

1. Rafa Nadal
2. Gilles Simon
3. Used to be Hewitt but ... now either Coric or Thiem!

Gilles Simon is popular.

I did not know this.

Our Gillou is very inspiring. haha.
I like how he lulls opponents to sleep ... then strike. I actually try to play like that but I get impatient :cry way too fast.

Actually, Roger made exactly the same comment when he lost to Simon in Canada in 2008.
He really bores the hell out of opponents (not to mention fans) and then when they fall asleep strikes.
