This is their first meeting between Serena and Danielle.Serena broke early leads 3-0.
Too many UFE from Collins and she is just hitting into Serena's strike zone,needs to create angles

Good variety from Collins in her serve has mixed it up

I hope it is just precautionary. I really liked where Serena’s game is at the moment. She is looking like she can make a decent run at the AO.

I am picking a Garbine win,have been impressed with her level at this tournament.

A close match so far,Barty showing her all court variety moving Garbine around the court and using her slice as a offensive weapon and also defensive weapon,.Garbine must keep serving well and play first strike tennis,try to shorten the points.Whoever controls the middle part of the court I feel will win...........3 all,Garbine had a early break,Ash broke straight back.
Garbine breaks and will serve for the 1st set 5-4.....Ash breaks back using her slice bhand to perfection
5 games all.
Garbine will serve to stay in the 1st set 6-5
6 games all t/break for the 1st set
Garbines ball toss has gone aray,too many UFE so far in the t/break,Barty takes control of the middle court,using her slice,drop shot,fhand.....Ash 6-3

Barty broke Garbine in her 1st service game which went for 10 mins.Ash putting a lot of pressure on Garbine's serve also making Garbine play more balls,which can wear anyone down.Barty with a wonderful cross court bhand winner,just delightful to watch.
Garbine has too work hard and long for points and gets on the board.Ash 2-1
Ash with too many UFE of her own and Garbine breaks,back on serve 3 all....Garbine needs a quick service game here.
Garbine with a love service game,which she needed leads 4-3. On serve 4 games all.
Ash breaks and will serve for the match 5-4

A good contested match....Ash served better and with less UFE and stayed on top of Garbine throughout the match,really neutralized Garbine's game
Garbine has had a great week and can take positives into the AO
( I am happy to be wrong BTW I picked Garbine).
