Sometimes the opponent plays better and that's why you lose, which was the case in AO earlier this year, Ana was just better that day although Serena rained 13 Aces on her. I didn't see Serena being "OFF" that day in January. Neither was she "OFF" that other day against Sabine in Wimby last year. Those days, the opponents were better... It is true that Serena has more good days than bad days, but then that's why she is #1
Obviously, if she has more bad days than good days, she won't be #1 for long.
I like to see every lady "ON" for every match, but then, we are all humans.
Lets see who is "ON' Tomorrow?

She will face one in Semis and the other in the Final if things hold up.
But here is the trick question, although Li Na leads Sara 6-0 H2H, that was the exact deficit Na had against Sam Stosur yesterday when she finally beat her today. Can Sara turn the tables like Ana and Na did today?

Ya know, I feel a little ashamed that I haven't taken Suarez-Navarro seriously. I know her name has been lurking recently in many a tournament but I just thought she was doing well because of the customary high seed WTA chokes that one sees. She actually has one of the better OHBH that I've seen on the WTA ( maybe better than Vinci) and great movement. She's currently giving Ana some problems with it...

I've seen both matches , you reference and she definitely wasn't "ON". Firing aces is one thing, but when someone is "ON" they fire from all cylinders (serve, return, ground game, movement, shot selection). In that regard I would say Serena wasn't "ON" at Wimby. She had a break lead twice in the final set and didn't close out the match. Against Ana, the serve was the only thing that really kept her in it. Against Ana, her ground game was severely erratic and I didn't think she moved that well.
My point is not to take anything away from Ana or Sabine, because we've seen Serena be far less than her best and win matches anyway. So an opponent has to raise their game and believe in it long enough to get across the finish line.

Great and timely question Kiu
Kieran said:Li Na hit 52 errors in her match today.
Five. Two.
That's equivalent of thirteen games.
52.
