Sloane was set to play at Apia Sydney then the AO,she has a 'foot fracture' still not 100% and decided to withdraw from both tournaments.

Thanks Margaret. I looked her up and the only thing I saw was her pulling out of the USO, 2016, but no other news. So this must be the same injury. She's down to #52, but that's not bad for all of that time off.

Kerber still is the No 1 ranked player,regardless of not winning a tournament so far this year with (7,335 pts),she leads Serena Williams who has not played since the AO.by 325 pts (7,010 pts) and 1,315 points separate her from No 3 player Karolina Pliskova (6,020 pts).

Serena spokesperson Kelly Bush Novak confirms that Serena is pregnant and expecting a baby this Fall.
Serena will not play again in 2017 but intends to come back in 2018.

Thanks, Margaret. Here's a funny one: Tracy Austin pointed out that, amongst all of their records, it seems that during the AO final there were actually three Williams's on court. Not sure that will ever happen again...unless, perhaps, the Federer girls play doubles together, in which case there could be even 6 Federers on court. :lulz2:
