Coaching from the stands will be allowed on the WTA Tour this season. The trial will begin at the Dubai Duty Free Championship and Hungarian Open in February and will be used at all WTA Premier and International events in 2020.
The WTA said it was making the change because the existing rules are 'difficult to regulate' and because it is happening widely across the sport, but emphasized that the new rule will not mean there is any more coaching happening during matches than is already the case.

All I can is UGH....honestly I am soo against on court coaching now this? though I must say coaching from the stands and hand signals to players has been going on for sometime.

It's not that difficult to regulate. You require both player's boxes to sit on the same side of the stadium. You put a person down on the opposite side of the court who monitors transactions between the player boxes and the court. This person will notify the chair of any supposed coaching.

Well thought out idea maybe you should email the WTA with your suggestion. This new rule to me is making a mockery out of the game of tennis.

Electronic line calling will be tested on the clay court surface for the first time at the Volvo Car Open in Charleston, utilizing FOXTENN technology. The FOXTENN system, was officially approved for hardcourt use by the WTA in 2018,will debut on clay at Charleston's Billie Jean King Stadium Court and Althea Gibson Club Court in April. The same challenge protocols will be used as those on grass and hardcourts, that of three challenges per set and no ball mark inspections.

Martina has since apologized to Tennis Australia for breaking protocol,John McEnroe has not to date.
According to ESPN, he has, too. But they've made their point. PMac not surprisingly standing by his brother. Curious what everyone thinks about it.

Okay.

Margaret Court Arena was named in respect for what Margaret achieved in tennis 64 GS titles. Not for her thoughts on Gay marriage etc..It should not be renamed.
