Coco was playing well today and had really found her amazon spirit against Sabalenka. Really a good match they delivered. One tough cookie for you ;)

And the stats. In the match there were a talk with the front woman i Saudi Arabia. Who told us the importance for women in her country. Well -you don't care so I'll leave it there.

Coco Gauff and Qinwen Zheng will face each other in the championship match of the WTA Finals
Coco leads their H2H 1-0
The only time they played was on clay earlier this year
Coco struggled during the North American hard court swing, but she's completely reset and is playing some of the best tennis of her career

Qinwen Zheng has had a breakout season and has been incredible during the second half of the year ( Palermo champ, Olympics gold medal, Wuhan final and Tokyo champ)
Both have won 2 tour level titles this season
Both have 50+ match wins this season

If Zheng wins the title she will move into the 3rd ranked player of 2024

She now leads H2H with Aryna 5-4

Yes,, since Matt Daly has been added to Coco's team, he has been a Godsend, getting rid of that insane extreme, grip on her fhand, which I have been screaming about for 2 years and her 2nd serve has improved, still improving but heading in the right direction.Daly is a grip specialist something that Coco needed.

Congratulations to Coco and her new team.. I hope Coco is playing with more confidence these days without looking towards her coaching box for solutions. It was pure painful to watch her during her time with Brad. I will miss watching tennis including the women's game due to the coaching is allowed during the match rules of today's game. As we become older we can either adapt to the new era of tennis or just stay in our Ole school thoughts. Change is good for some of Us but not so much for the Ole school folks. Cheers AP

The one thing I noticed with her new team, Coco was fighting again for points, she has always been a 'fighter' though I felt her confidence was low before the USO, she has now 'reset' and has posted some good wins, yes there are things in her game that still need improving, though winning breeds confidence, this is what happened post USO. I am not a fan of coaching full stop, there are players in the womens game, that can work things out for themselves on court, sad to say this is the 'new normal' in the game.I understand your point regarding coaching.

you can't lay all the blame at Brad's feet. He helped her beat Iga and win a slam in the span of 6 weeks
I am not dumping all the blame on Brad, he is a good tactical coach, he didnt do anything to improve the fhand or the 2nd serve which needed help ASAP,she needed a technical coach
I have already seen improvements in Coco games, getting rid of that 'insane extreme grip on her fhand' for starters, which I have been screaming about for 2 years now? also her 2nd serve is heading in the right direction, Coco adding Matt Daly to her team has been a Godsend, he is a grip specialist, something that Coco is needing presently. Coco winning tournaments since her new team post USO has been a testament, she has more confidence and she is fighting for points, she came behind in the WTA final, a good win.

I'm glad Coco won and beat #1-2 to do it, but the WTA needs to be bitch-slapped for selling out to the Saudi's. Don't tell me they couldn't find some place in EU to hold these finals. What about the O2 in London? Somewhere in Spain, France or even the Baltic States? They love tennis and would have supported it.

I was reading on social media the attendance was poor, the Saudis and the WTA thinking showcasing the sport thought the women would run out and start playing tennis? WTA is struggling financially, Saudis have the money. Coco earned over $4.5 million dollars for winning the final.
I cannot bring myself to watch, treatment of woman, and human rights in their country is just disgusting on soo many levels
