Well folks you can't blame me for being happy right now. I'm happy because I see a committed Caroline playing good tennis right now consistently draining the power of an opponent whose only force is to power every shot over the net - bad strategy. I had a grain of symphaty for Camila before the match but now it's comepletely vanished. She should have been disqualified after the shot she made in anger into the spectators a lady on first row. She got a warning yes but she didn't excuse her fault which is very bad behavior to me - and then her father is beginning to irritate me. He's not funny anymore and please look at his shivering the man must be sick. Wonder what he is on - sorry I should behave now.
Congrats to Caroline fro grinding her way to the semis - time for a well deserved Carlsberg.:clap

There is a very angry rivalry brewing between these two, Camila seemed to be angry at the end of this match.
H2H is 1-1 now, all even. I am sure we will see these two play again in the near future.

I am not sure about the rivalry. Giorgi is always like that. A fierce competitor, similar to Errani, Halep, and all those little players who have to compensate for lack of size with extra running and extra fighting. She didnt mean to hit that woman. Should have apologized but life goes on.

I don't think she likes Caro at all, look at that hand shake.
Dad doesn't like Dad neither, both Dads being Tennis Dads. One Dad was shaking, one was laughing.

Thats because of the result of the match. one lost another won. I am more worried about the sick old man, he got help very late. If it was a heart problem then the help was real bad.

Ever since I saw the genuine friend of Caro and Rena, I have been pulling for Woz. Strange how these things happen. I hope she wins the tourney.

Keys is slapping Davis around to the tune of 6-2 6-1. Moves into the SF impressively.

Hoergren I am pleased to inform you Caroline looked smart in her green outfit today, as I witnessed almost the entire match at Centre Court in blazing sunshine. Two people in the stands suffered from more than likely heat stroke as the match as most of you who watched it was stopped while one person in particular get attention and was stretchered out of the Devonshire Park stadium. Caroline shows her experience and weathered the little Italian storm and was deserving of the win. A number of calls went against her, I have not witnessed a match in which the umpire made so many over rules on critical match points. My three photo friends in the pits all agreed. One major disappointment for me was not being able to interview Elena Vesnina, I got some great shots of her, but with her loss yesterday, to Madison, she was in no state of mind for a one on one interview which I entirely understand. She did pass a message on to me saying, there is a possibilty she may email me and do an interview that way when I return to Vancouver Island. I can't ask for anything more than that. Madison Keys by the way was relentless in her approach, and even with Elena trying her upmost to get that second set she proved too strong for Elena. It was a good match overall. With four extremely long days of travelling down to Eastbourne it is time to relax and spend some time with my relatives, who have barely seen me! Out before they have gotten up and back very late, but I have to say I was treated royally by the staff at Devonshire Park again, being again the only International reporter/photographer there. The Aegon International will revert back to a women's only event again. The men will play at Nottingham which was the venue a few years ago. As mentioned once I do my story for our paper and post some pics on my own tennis page, I will forward a number of pics to Kskate and Tented(I think that is the other guy I do that with!!):clap

Kerber really put the cleaners through Makarova in her match.I really thought Makarova had a good chance to get to the final.

I am happy to see Maddie making the s/finals.She has deserved her place.

Kerber is playing very fine tennis, but I will agree with you fashionista, though Caroline had a very long match in the heat, while Angelique cruised through her 1/4 and got way more rest time. Weather is cooler today, at least in London, but London was the same yesterday and Eastbourne was bright, sunnier and hotter and there is very little distance between the two cities!

Caro takes the opener. Kerbie levels by taking the 2nd set breaker. Heading to the decider.

What a battle, what a marathon run for both ladies - well done ladies. Sorry Caroline lost but it was indeed good training for the wimbledon tournament for her. Nice gesture after the match and people applauded both ladies for a magnificent battle. Good luck in the final Kerber.:clap

Totally impressed with Madison Keys. Saw her defeat Elena Vesnina on court two a couple of days ago and now with a very comfortable 6-3, 6-1 over Brit Heather Watson. Keys is very composed and goes about her business with authority. Her serve when you are right there watching it comes with such power and accuracy. Only one double fault in the entire tournament. That is remarkable. Her return of serve is excellent too. Heather really did not help herself today, losing two games when she was up 40-0 and that was emphasized in the deciding game when again she went up 30-0 and Madison came back and won five straight points. It should be a good final tomorrow, with the weather forecast saying the warmest day of the tournament. Glad I could again give you a little insight on some of the matches I have watched.

Madison wins first set 6-3, Kerber coming back strong in the 2nd set up 4-1, but Madison remains composed and when that 1st serve gets in she is in complete control. Madison just hit a 123 mph serve, matching her career high!
Madison has just won her first WTA title downing Angelique Kerber, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 in a splendid 3 set victory at the Aegon International tennis tournament in Eastbourne, England. She played superbly well throughout the tournament, I was extremely impressed with her composure for a 19 year old, her immense power on the serve and forehand. Others better watch out for this rising American star. Well done Maddie!!

And Madison takes her first title! A really great match too! Sort of a poor circumstance to give Madison her fourth match point though. Kerber's second serve was called out but it was on the line. They don't have hawk eye here yet so she lost the point. Madison finally won it on the next point. Glad to see her get her first title.

I would think everyone would have thought Sloane would win a title first of the two. She's two years older. It really is getting quite ridiculous that Sloane hasn't won one. Showing that she's got some sort of problem. Some mental problem. Either a genuine issue closing out tournaments. Or she really just doesn't care about anything but the slams and big tournaments. She's too good to not have won one. A major failing from her. She's got to good of a game to not find a way to hang in there and outlast people. Ridiculous.
