Tented even described him as just "above average", what a joke. Average is 500 in the rankings. A slam and a masters is far above average even you don't define him as great. Denis was making a pretty bland comment about Stan. It was everybody else who decided to split hairs.

You state my calling him "above average" is a joke, then proceed to use the same phrase to describe him yourself, only adding the word "far", and agree with my main point that he's not great? Now that's funny.

I didn't he isn't great, I think he is. To me .01% best of the open era is great. But I said you don't have to say he is great. And contextually, me defending the notion of his being a great player and saying he is far above average is different from what your statement in context. Or at least I read as you saying Stan has merely had an above average career.

I don't think great is an objective term, so we might agree(although I don't think so), but not on terminology.
