Andy's aim has to be to get through the group really. Unless someone else takes out Nole, I don't see that Andy can beat him on this surface if it's anything like last year. If you said Andy will get through the group and lose to Nole in the semis I'd probably just about take that now.

Federer vs Djokovic would be the fitting final after this year.

No, but he won other matches between those defeats, did he? What I'm looking for is two successive matches lost - and it was the same player beat him each time. Could be that happened then too, did it?

It happened last year I think. Fed lost to Novak in Paris, and then again in the opening round of the WTF.

Wow you're right. So much for my memory. Guess the fact that it was to Novak and Roger had such a dreadful 2013 and it's understandable. Doing that to Raonic instead of Nole is night and day.

It's very unlikely as it would need to be a first round loss the second time. You would need an unlikely draw in the first place, then a mediocre player (not seeded) to beat him twice.

Not saying Milos is mediocre, the wtf make it a bit different.

This. The WTF is the only time it can realistically happen to a good player, otherwise they lose to a weak player twice in a row. I know it hasn't happened to Roger in the past 11 years, I'd remember something that bad...and I don't suspect it will happen this time either. I'd like to think too much pride and game to let the one trick pony embarrass him twice in a row.

I hope the one trick pony teaches Papa Rodge how a masterclass two handed backhand looks like in a crucial moment of a match. :devil

Come on, even you had to giggle when you typed something about Raonic having a master class THB :devil

I did, but that is the fact that unexpected winner came at a crucial point in helping him to get the break in the match with Roger in Paris.

It was a beauty! I hope he does it more often!

Kei is a bit nervous no? He will settle down.

Yeah, looks like it. Horrendous first serve percentage, and some poor choices at the net.

Luckily Murray is helping out.

Murray breaks. Nishikori still needs to get into it.
