Tennis Tour looks like in the verge of dying.. i can't wait for the Empress to dominate tennis once again.

:laydownlaughing
what is she dominating? facebook or Twitter?

Maria wins a slam like every 2 or three years based on how tricked out the draws are and 2012 was the last time she got lucky and won one.

I also might add that Maria has been C R U S H E D every single meeting and every surface this year alone by SERENA WILLIAMS. and you speak of dominating? :puzzled

i'd really like to know what exactly is she dominating :D

Maria owns serena in the Wimbledon Finals .. serena literally winless against Maria in the Finals at Wimbledon.

so that makes maria dominating? :laydownlaughing

ok, so in that case, according to your thoughts, then Serena Williams OWNS Maria sharapova at the Australian open then right?

also,
so in that case, Serena Williams OWNS Maria Sharapova at THE FRENCH OPEN, MADRID, MIAMI, DOHA right? and it would have been ROME as well this year, but maria on on the run like a fugitive afraid of the law called Serena Williams :laydownlaughing

so it looks like Serena is dominating and Maria hasn't even won a slam this year. Do you think Maria will win another slam while a healthy Serena is playing?

here let me help you out.. :nono

i'm talking about The Wimbledon Finals.. the running H2H record in the Finals for the past 9 yrs ..well maria got a 100% winning record ..a perfect one.

talking about the FO the past 2 yrs again Maria got the better record.. 2012- Champion..2013- Finalist ..serena- 2012- 1st round embarrassing .. 2013- Champion.. looks fluke win to me.

I think you're taking looking at the "glass as half full" to a ridiculous level.

So, Maria has a better overall in the FO the last two years. Um, question, you mentioned Maria was the finalist in 2013, whom did she lose to again?

And we all know, Maria's got Serena's number when they play, as her 2 wins in 16 matches against Serena reflects that truth.

And her 1-4 dominance in slams over Serena is an impeccable stat.

Actually, it makes what Serena did that much more impressive going out in the first round only to comeback a year later and win the same slam. Over the past two years, there are two players that just have an edge over Maria in the stats Azarenka and Serena. True it is a bit closer between Maria and Azarenka, but over the past 2 years I would say Vika has had the better results. Like I said Serena and Vika have won slams this year Maria hasn't so at the moment Maria is the bridesmaid.

That "embarrassing" lose has shaped some Serena's best tennis in the last 16 months. Sometimes one has to take a step backwards to make leaps and bounds forwards. IMO I believe Maria working with Connors and perhaps tinkering with her game is her was of maybe going backwards in order to move forwards, especially against Serena. The fact the both have been in the game for a while and both are willing to still try and change says a lot about their personalities.

There is nothing wrong in getting knocked-down in a first round of a major, it's how one gets up and responds to that knock down that cements your place in history.

You should think before you speak. If Serena's 2013 FO win is a fluke (she had to beat Maria who was defending champ to get the title), what say you about Maria's FO win in 2012? She had to beat Errani and that doesn't seem flukish to you?

You diminish your favorite player by making these wild statements. Both wins are impressive in their own right. Maria solving the "cow on ice" analogy and Serena bouncing back from an embarassing 1st round defeat as you called it. Try harder not to diminish another player's success. Maria's had a great career and still has more years in front of her. Why not be happy about the success she has garnered w/o trying to belittle or mock her opponent's results. No player is above losing in the 1R of a slam. I seem to remember Maria losing to Kiri at the AO in R1. Or are you conveniently forgetting about that result?

So, I guess losing to in the second round of Wimbledon to De Brito is much better?

You might have to wait a long time. Pova may never dominate because Serena plans to play a few more years. After she retires, Vika will still be around. Just enjoy the sport for what it offers.

The TWIT loves his Empress. According to the TWIT

Maria is beginning her 3rd " Era Of Domination "

Funny. I am happy not to have to watch her drag that stiff body of hers all over court. Serena will probably play for at least 3 more years, and Vika isn't going anywhere (as someone said.). Maria will not dominate anything. She has already said she doesn't want to play into her 30s. And because she is not as pure an athlete as Serena, or even Vika, she will not be able to physically hang with the younger players.

She's listed to appear, we'll see if she withdraws.

I am betting she will not show. Maria doesn't want to take a beating from Serena before the Open. Probably thinking that by not showing what she has learned from her new coach, other players, including Serena, will think she has some new secret weapons. It won't work. Hoping they will meet at the Open. Serena will put a Blackheart kind of beating on her

I think Pova will play Cincy. She cannot afford to show up at USO without any match practice. Her falls at Wimby did not look so serious that she needs such a long time to recuperate. It will be exciting to have the big three present. When will the USO seeds be finalized? I can imagine how hard Vika and Pova will fight to gain the second seed to avoid Serena.

As for my previous post about Vika's schedule, I wondered why she decided to play Carlsbad instead of Cincy. Don't the top players typically commit to Cincy and Canada?

Vika is playing Cincinnati. She decided to originally play Carlsbad instead of Toronto because she didn't want to play 2 weeks in a row close to the US Open.

US Open seeds will be finalised after Cincinnati.
