Marion only made 6 winners the entire match? That can't be right. She makes a living hitting winners.

I didn't see the match, but that is a suspicious number, yet it can be verified here:

Stephens only winning 21% of second serve points seems like the fatal number.
Sloane is like Wozniacki with a better forehand, just a boring player...from her passive demeanor to her passive game..she is good at running down balls.
good riddance!

I thought Sloane did a good job of keeping it tight, given that it was a first (?) QF for her, and Bartoli has made a final. She got unlucky with the stoppage of play at 4-5, deuce. That was a hard place to come back after a long rain delay, given her inexperience. It was a pretty tight two-setter. All credit to the young US player.

Sloane had an excellent showing to get as far as she did. Still, I think most are disappointed (including herself) with how she played against the spasmodic Bartoli. To get broken as many times as she did in the 2nd set is just hard to swallow. Oh well, live and learn.

she got lucky with the draw after all the losses on her side of the draw...today she met a capable grass player who hits hard and flat..
