He's a kid! He's meant to be mouthy and stupid. Let him develop and in five years he'll sing a different tune...

And Wimbledon Champion.

I listened to the interview. The kid is articulate, and not stupid. And "impolitic" IS refreshing. He also said, and the headline in Italian was that he "prefers skiing to tennis." (His first sport...has to do with his mother's illness why he gave it up and took to tennis.) However, if his Wimbledon Jrs. title leads him to greater things, for better or worse, he'll likely get more savvy (and guarded) about interviews. Unless he's a character, like Safin, which I don't take him to be.

oh well, we'll see. looking at the list of wimbledon's junior champs, we could hear some more from or about him - or nothing at all. i do hope he'll be around and we'll see whether/how he develops as a pro - as Kieran says, he'll probably sing a different tune. doesn't change, of course, that how he phrased his thoughts wasn't all that clever.


btw, what i don't get in the title is the "and to their very face" part. were any of the players he denounced present during the interview?
