the magnificent Dunblane's warrior !!!
warrior? he is a whinge who gets upset that Lendl took a toilet break (and he was 2 sets up), guy is immature and has little warrior quality. He lives off someone's strong shoulder, i don't know of anyone else who would have such ridiculous dependency on his coach.
Congrats to Andy Murray and also Milos Raonic reaching his first Slam final. But to me it was a very disappointing final. I initially wanted Milos to win as I felt it would have given Men's tennis a real shot in the arm (personally I am utterly fed up of the Nadal and Djokovic eras), but as the match went on, I realized just how limited his game is for the grass as he couldn't break Andy's serve not once in almost three hours of play and he has the worst backhand I've ever seen for a GS finalist.
Even so I expect Milos to one day win a GS, either Australian or the U.S as hardcourt is still his best surface.
Hey, Murray almost won all seven of his matches in straight sets, except his QF but even then( vs. Tsonga) he led 2 sets and 4-2 and really should have won that one in straight sets. The return of Lendl as the coach as done wonders for Andy's head winning Queens and now the Big W.
Next for Andy will be defending his Olympics title next month as he has made himself unavailable for the Davis Cup tie versus Serbia (as has ND).
I agree. Murray can play great tennis but I don't like watching him because of his behaviour and general on and off court attitude. He is totally lacking in charisma for me. I find it incredible that the UK press are calling him our greatest ever sportsperson! Three grand slams and 1 Olympic medal in 10+ years! Not exactly Steve Redgrave's record is it!sort of agree with this. I don't find that quality of dependency particularly impressive either. Almost Justinne Henin like, and I really loathed her. There was an unsportsmanlike cheater if I ever saw one
But he contradicts himself so much. In Sept 1013 he clearly said he did not believe in equal prize money in grand slams. (Scotsman, Sept 4 2013) However when Djokovic was criticized for a much milder remark Murray leapt in and suddenly supported equal prize money and criticized Novak. He has done a similar u-turn over issues of doping - again jumping in to disagree with Djokovic. He moans about players taking MTOs and toilet breaks but does it himself. I don't like the veiled accusations about doping - he needs to say what he knows and have the guts to name offenders or shut up. To me what he says shows hypocrisy and I think he can't miss an opportunity to have a dig at Djokovic. I also did not like his wife's attitude to Berdych - true that was her and not him but it gives a picture of how they think and talk about other players which is not pretty. I know its been hard for him battling against Fed, Nadal and Djokovic but he needs to let his tennis do the talking.I hear you and can relate to his on-court attitude... I was never a fan, but I like his off-court attitude - he's humble, honest and genuine.
