Struggling to see beyond Murray in 3 although if Milos' serve will keep him honest.

This is an opportunity that Andy really cannot afford to pass up. A 2-8 slam final record can be explained by the strength of opposition... not so for this final.

I'd like to see Muzz lifting the Trophy but I'm not sure if he will. Raonic is playing well too and Muzz loses his mind very easy when the things are not going well on his side and I don't think he will have a easy match, we'll see...

Exactly the point: Murray cannot lose this final. Full stop.

There are 11 matches between these two listed in the OP, yet the H2H is 6:3? I don't know whose math is wrong.;-):

I think Federer and many of his fans wrote Raonic off in the semi, it would be wrong for Murray fans to do the same in the final. I am giving Murray a slight advantage, but not a sure win.

I don't think anyone wrote Milos off for the semifinal especially since Roger was coming off a 5 set match. Murray is a far different animal though compared to the current weak version of Fed. Way better return and given the fact Roger's serve was crap today Milos may actually be up against a better serve in the final. It is more than a slight edge, this would be a large upset.

The first one was a walkover, so it doesn't count. I don't think any of the Federer fans wrote off Raonic...some said he was more of a worry than Murray. They also rightly cited Cilic as a problem. I doubt any Murray fan ever discounts an opponent, especially in the final of a Major. Murray is the long-suffering one, and so are his fans. Be kind to them. Milos has done what he said he was going to do, and I'm impressed with him for it: he has big ambitions, and he has brought the big guns into his team. Anyone who underestimates him will do so at their own peril. Long-term. That said, I don't think he's going to beat Andy tomorrow, who is better than almost anyone on grass, looked fine on it today, and is unlikely to blow his best chance in London, with all of the UK pulling for him.

Well we'll see on Sunday then. I don't think Murray was really tested here, the only test came from Tsonga who hasn't played his best in a while. The support from the crowd might help Murray and the fact this is the first time Raonic made the final of a major. But Wawrinka in 2014 AO or Cilic in USO were first time finalists and winners so who knows.

Interestingly, by all initial reactions, Murray had the more difficult draw. It would be a huge moment and upset if Raonic were to pull it off. And I do think he has a lot of good head and commitement. However, Murray knows that this is a window he can't afford to let close. And he's great on grass. And, yes, he'll have the crowd on his side. If he doesn't win on Sunday, it will be the worst loss of his career. I don't see how that could not be true.

Two were walkovers which don't count in the H2H tallies.

Thanks BB, I wasn't paying attention to the results, I guess.;-):

That's probably the reason why most opt to not even start a match. Looks nicer in the records.

I honestly believe that Milos will win this and win it pretty easily. I'm biased, but his last 2 losses to Murray were due to injury. His confidence is running high. If he holds his nerve especially early in the match and his serve stays where it's been all tournament....he'll win.

As difficult as it may be, Milos has a shot. Bunch of things have to happen though. Serve and forehand combo has to work, he has to attack Murray's second serve every time, not get freaked out when Murray starts to mix things up. Easier said than done but I think he is more mature and together upstairs than most other first time slam finalists.
I think this is the first time Murray as entering a slam final as the favorite, no?

Good points by Murat and Rides. Of course it would be wrong to underestimate Raonic at this point. Murray will feel the most pressure, though Milos will have the maiden Slam finals nerves. I still think Murray has the greater grass chops, though, and experience will win the day.
