The forehand is still not where it needs to be for Roger. I know the TMF forehand is never coming back, but I would still take a light version of it.
Yup even a light version can threaten Rafa somewhat. But he's inconsistent still shanking easy balls

In this edition of wimbly all four quarterfinals are mouthwatering.

With a combined h2h of 2 and 23, whomever Roger faces in his quarter will be more of a snack than a mouthwatering match. :snigger

Agreed on h2h. Actually, want what u predict to happen.

But, I think next match may be tougher for Fed (ofcourse, nothing compared to
projected sf if he wins). Deliciano seems to be in form and SW is rejuvenated and
had beaten fed this year.

Fed needed 3 MPS to close out Robredo. He needed same or more to close out first match
as well.

Fed also has his usual recent problem of having low break point conversion rate (but, not
bad in this match).

Whatever it is, 4th set is definitely not what fed wanted today considering he needs to play
tommorrow and he managed to avoid it.

Lopez had that second set on his racket, now he faces a big uphill struggle.

Federer pretty ruthless again, can't wait to see how the likely Fedal semi final goes down.

Tennisfanatic7, allow me to explain to you how exactly the Fedal semi goes down .

Roger starts like a bat out of hell. Serves, volleys, forehand is working, he is returning great. He gets 2 breaks up in the first set and is about to serve for the set at 5-1. He gets broken, and Rafa holds. Roger serves for the set again at 5-3 and closes it out.

Rafa wins the next 3 sets easily and that's it.:(

I hope I am full of it by the way but...

Wawrinka takes out Lopez. Quite a bit of bad blood between those two by the close. Arguing at the net after the match.

What's their problem?

What's their problem?

Lopez was grumbling loudly between points throughout the third set and the umpire warned him he would take action if it continued. Later in the set, Stan got a little vocal but said he was talking to the crowd.

At the handshake, Lopez started venting a bit and then an argument started. 7 Digital here in Oz said they were fading it out because of the bad language.

Wawrinka looked good. Served around 30 aces and was volleying more than I've seen before... and volleying well.

Haha, sounds about right. Hopefully not though. There's no reason why Federer can't beat him on this surface if he brings his best tennis, but we all know that it's a big if when it comes to Federer against Nadal in slams.
