Weekend @ Bernies can take the rest of the week off now. Good effort and hopefully he'll turn the corner now.

Commentators complaining that Novak is playing worse than against Chardy... Like Haas is Chardy. :s

Not a bad showing from Tomic, but not quite ready to beat a player as strong as Berdych. Should be a good QF match up.

Well you said it yourself he had a walkabout there in 3rd set. Did he do that against Chardy? If not, then his level wasn't as high today, but he still got the win right? Don't be so touchy Denis.

Don't know why you folks are watching Djokovic-Haas when you can be watching Berdych-Tomic. What a match.

Based on the score, it looked like it. Good for Bernie to step up in this event, after an underwhelming year.
To be honest I would have preferred Tomic against Novak in the QF.

Djokovic says he thinks he's playing better than 2011.:D:p

Yes, me too. Not only because Berdych is more dangerous, but Tomic would be good practice for a match against Murray I feel.

Well, I was touchy with the Becker thing, but here they were really basing their comments on the scoreboard. Novak had a tiny mental lapse, but he played really well. And he said himself he thinks he is playing better than in 2011. So I'm happy! :):)

Haas plans to keep playing a few more years so I was annoyed at the commentator saying this was probably his last match on centre court. Not the way he's playing it's not. Although he didn't play his best till set 3 sadly and even then he didn't serve or play as well as he has in recent months. Still though, small lapse aside from Djokovic at the end, he looks very sharp.

I like "Weekend at Bernie's," though I have to admit JLLB's "Tomic the Tank Engine" made me LOL.

Random sidebar note: If Federer was made to change out his shoes with orange soles for infringing too much on the all-white rule, how come Serena was allowed to keep her orange bloomers?

Would you like to speak to Serena about the colour of the shorts covering her derrière?

I hope Murray is alright.

Andy, remember this formula.

Lost point - he limps and grabs his body parts
Point won - fist pump and celebration.

It doesn't deviate.

Yup, he fooled me on that one! Glad he's alright.

Murray was late for his press conference because he was spending more time than he usually does with his recovery team.

Andy is a reactive player. If he feels a twinge then we'll see it. I do think he has actually got better at hiding his reactions. I don't think it's fair to always assume that he's just 'acting'. Every player gets niggles. Andy is just not great at hiding those niggles on-court.

^ Murray's always going to get teased for that. I think it's just a funny habit of his, and lots of players have them. Someone had an interesting explanation once: blame a body-part and not your head, and it helps you move on. I think that's ok.

@kskate: Either the tournament organizers were too nervous to bring up Serena's shorts, or they were afraid that the only other option was to borrow the "nude-colored" ones from Venus. :laydownlaughing

yeah but as is often the case..andy only grabbed his side / leg when he was losing down a break in the 2nd set, then when he was winning he was ok again :snigger

but he obviously needs to watch his back ailment.,,especially with harder matches to come, and hot n sunny weather coming in for the sf and f.
