Rola seems a lot better than the lopsided score would indicate but it's only the 2nd slam he's ever played. Looks like he has a pretty good game.

Fognini is some clown lol. Btw is Alex Kuznetsov who he beat on Monday any relation to Andrey Kuznetsov who beat Ferrer today?

Edit: Lazy Front just checked and the answer is no.

Alex Kuznetsov is not related to Russian tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova or Andrey Kuznetsov.

A journalist asked Fognini about his behaviour in round 1. His response suggests he needed clarification.

Answer: We talking about Monday? We talking about Roland Garros? You want to talk about Australia?

I see he has been fined for a 'visible' obscenity. A tad unusual.

Yeah, laughed when I read that and at first I thought maybe he dropped his pants and mooned the umpire lol. Presume he gave him the middle finger. Quite a character!

^ Ready for what exactly? Does anybody really expect him to beat Nadal again?

Kskate.. You know Front and Darth would just  to see Rafa get ousted..

Federer's match is tough as well. A loss there wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Btw, 99% of Nadal fans would be happy if Federer loses too except the very rare few who happen to like both Federer and Nadal.

As a fed fan Idk why Rafa fans would be happy if fed loses. Like seriously I don't expect fed to beat Rafa if they play semis.

They're both a long way from the semis at this point given how shaky they've been on grass lately.

Doesn't matter if they end up meeting I'll be just praying fed doesn't embarrass himself.

Any loss is embarrassing given his prowess on grass but if he does end up playing him it's less one sided than most they'll have played in recent years at least given the surface. Then again, who can forget thinking the same for the WTF last year and Fed was atrocious so maybe he may well embarrass himself greatly :laydownlaughing

He's 33 now in August so he's not expected to win anyway regardless of who he's playing out of Djokovic, Nadal and Murray though he'll no doubt bag a few more wins before he quits at least.

A lot of Nadal fans like Federer, now. It's not a two-way street compared with the way Federer fans feel about Nadal, by a long stretch. And those who don't would likely relish the chance to even up that grass h2h.

But there's a lot to worry about before the semis, so let's leave that for when/if it comes up.

Yeah exactly. I can see either of them losing before then, maybe even later on.

Imagine they both lost. Stranger things have happened.

True but I still believe he can win against Murray and djokovic on a good day. Against Rafa tho that never happens even if Rafa is playing bad

Yeah he can beat them alright, especially in best of 3 and no doubt will do that a number of times before he hangs it up but it's getting harder these days unless he manages it in 3 or 4 sets. If it goes to 5 he's toast. Even in his peak he often ended up gassed in 5th sets and in 2014 at almost 33 he'll lose a 5th set 6-1 or 6-2. He doesn't have a mental block against Murray and Djokovic so his game doesn't go to garbage although it still does at times. Look at the Indian Wells final set tiebreak against Djokovic earlier this year. Embarassing. 6 or 7 (one or the other) straight errors :nono At Wimbledon he could beat Murray or Djokovic and Murray at RG though at the others probably not at this stage. Of course he'd have to serve well and play a clean match with little slop and that's easier said than done at his age too against the top players.

He's a proud man and imo part of it comes down him probably believing he should still beat Djokovic and Murray and hence does at times but deep down he probably knows he won't beat Nadal now and going in with a defeatist attitude like that is what causes his game to go to complete garbage when he plays him, regardless of how well he's played before that. Then again he came close in Cincy last year but that lapse at 4-5 set 2 cost him the match. So he can still beat him in best of 3 if he cuts out the slop. And speaking of slop, time for bed 'cos my typing has gone to dog$h1t!
