He's 33 now in August so he's not expected to win anyway regardless of who he's playing out of Djokovic, Nadal and Murray though he'll no doubt bag a few more wins before he quits at least.
True but I still believe he can win against Murray and djokovic on a good day. Against Rafa tho that never happens even if Rafa is playing bad
Yeah he can beat them alright, especially in best of 3 and no doubt will do that a number of times before he hangs it up but it's getting harder these days unless he manages it in 3 or 4 sets. If it goes to 5 he's toast. Even in his peak he often ended up gassed in 5th sets and in 2014 at almost 33 he'll lose a 5th set 6-1 or 6-2. He doesn't have a mental block against Murray and Djokovic so his game doesn't go to garbage although it still does at times. Look at the Indian Wells final set tiebreak against Djokovic earlier this year. Embarassing. 6 or 7 (one or the other) straight errors :nono At Wimbledon he could beat Murray or Djokovic and Murray at RG though at the others probably not at this stage. Of course he'd have to serve well and play a clean match with little slop and that's easier said than done at his age too against the top players.
He's a proud man and imo part of it comes down him probably believing he should still beat Djokovic and Murray and hence does at times but deep down he probably knows he won't beat Nadal now and going in with a defeatist attitude like that is what causes his game to go to complete garbage when he plays him, regardless of how well he's played before that. Then again he came close in Cincy last year but that lapse at 4-5 set 2 cost him the match. So he can still beat him in best of 3 if he cuts out the slop. And speaking of slop, time for bed 'cos my typing has gone to dog$h1t!
