How time flies when you've fun. Day 2 lies behind us already. The biggest upset yesterday was Laura Robson defeating the #10 seeded Maria Kirilenko 63, 64. A solid victory and I'm sure the Brits must have been over the moon. How far can Laura go here in front of her home crowd?

All the other top seed playing that day got through to R2. Here are the seeded players who have to pack and go home:

Alexandra Cadantu (ROU) def Tamira Paszek (AUT) #28 62,75
Alison Riske (USA) def Romina Oprandi (SUI) #31 67,75, 31 (ret)
Tsvetana Pironkova (BUL) def A.Pavlyuchenkova (RUS) #21 60, 61
Karolina Pliskova (CZE) def Nadia Petrova (RUS) #13 63,62

The only "wow" I have is Nadia Petrova's quick exit, I had expected her to go longer. Even Pavlyuchenkova's early exit is a bit of a disappointment even if Pironkova is a dangerous opponent on grass. Some other negative surprises and quick exits were Julia Goerges and Jie Zheng who was defeated by Caroline Garcia (FRA) and who'll meet Serena Williams in the next round. Daniela Hantuchova's early exit was also a bit disappointing but Klara Zakopalova (CZE) is a good grass player

Of the none seeded players getting through I bet Kiu is a happy camper since Elena Vesnina made it to R2 as well as Sabine Lisicki who defeated F. Schiavone 61, 62
