From a consistency stand point I'd say Kei. Week-in, week-out, when healthy he has played better than Cilic. Of course it is hard to argue with Marin either since he won a major.

Nishikori. Cilic's has a major to his name and that obviously trumps Kei's accomplishments, but Cilic pretty much had one great tournament, while Kei's improvement was year round.

All of them are good candidates though except for Kyrgios. He had one big win during his one decent tournament, not enough to win most improved IMO.

It remains to be seen whether Cilic will be able to come close to his US Open level, or rather how close as there's no way he'll reproduce that regularly - otherwise he'd arguably be the best player in the game.

I'd go with Nishikori first, Bautista Agut second.

Nick's won the MIA Award.

I think RBA has had a great year, without scalping anyone major. Kei is the one for me, for the same reason as Darth and Broken give. He's a feature on almost all surfaces and he's gone from being a six inch putt, to being a tricky opponent for anybody...

Also, I assume they vote for these after the season? Say Nishi wins both Paris and YEC...that would make this a slam dunk.

To be fair to Cilic, he also had 3 more tournament wins in addition to the Slam. They may not be bigger events but somebody is going to win them, right...

Also the degree of improvement Cilic showed was amazing. The Us Open semi was one of the handful of times I have seen Roger totally helpless.

To me it's between Kei and Marin. Good cases can be made for both. Kei really felt like a top 10 player all year. Marin looked like a number 1 or 2 for one very important tournament.

It's only that US Open semi and final tbh. Cilic has been a regular top 20 player for years, reaching semis of slams and winning smaller events.

Kei is the most improved player for me.

Goffin has had a really good year too but obviously not in the league of Nishikori and Cilic in terms of top 10 wins.

Nishikori. He is the only one who seems to able to challenge all members of the so called big four on a consistent basis.

Thanks, Isabelle. I'm glad he did - the others get enough recognition for their improvements.

Did they agree with me that Nick wins the MIA award? ;)
