OK, now we know the best Kiwi and Appalachian ice-creams but what is the best Irish one?

It's well known by everyone in the world that the only good thing to come out of Kerry or Cork is the road to Dublin. But eventually, they got something right, and gave us Murphy's Ice Cream. For credibility purposes, they opened a shop in Dublin and it's a winner!

This DID make me laugh out loud.

Aside from that, ice cream is over-rated. It makes your mouth feel dry, it's too sweet, and it's a waste of calories. There...I've said it! I don't like ice cream. At a press, a sorbet is so much nicer. If you're forced. But I'd rather have a second helping of pasta, and skip the sweet altogether. Just my humble opinion.

I am mostly with you on this, but every six months i will just eat a pint of ben and jerry's in one night.

Exactly. Moxie, I'm disappointed in you! Ice cream is like a good vino: it always has the ability to taste even better than you remember. But sorbet is fine too. I have a sweet tooth so it's all fine with me, actually... :D

I feel like my BBQ is my ultimate poison...today on the menu is burgers, lamb shish kebabs, wings and shrimp. I like variety...It is charcoal, of course, I do not consider gas real BBQ...:sleepy:

Sorry I arrived late to the party guys. Please pour a pint of Guinness with a Jameson back. After a couple rounds, let us feast on whatever is in the kitchen. Get the Rioja and Bordeuax ready, perhaps a little Malbec from the Pontiff's home country. After dinning, let us retire to the parlor for a bit of brandy and some fine conversation.

I can't get enough of peanut butter and pizza with extra cheese. And when I say extra, I really really mean extra. As for drinks, there was a time when I would have killed for a Bloody Mary. Funny enough I don't really like alcohol apart from the odd beer with friends and work colleagues during barbecue etc. but that stuff simply killed me every single time. I used to know a good barkeeper who was a genius in making longdrinks. He made the very best bloody mary in town. God bless you Jerome, wherever you are.

edit: my wife forced me to stop with bloody maries and better use the money to buy her shoes instead. :dodgy:

Come on, you're French! Drink the bloody Bloody Mary from her old shoe! She'll love it. Where's your romantic nature? :D

It's not like I never tried but the combination of her sweaty feet and tomatoes...uh let's better not talk about it. There is only so much a romantic nature can take. :D

Could be worse: men from Cork think it's romantic to drink Guinness from their women's Wellington boots... :D

Well as my dad used to say, Irish men are something else. Do not stand in their way, do not provoke them, do not argue with them and when you are involved in a fist fight with one of them, for god's sake make sure you either scream you were a bleeder or you better arrive in time with a shotgun. I love your women though. ;)

Lol! Your dad wasn't far wrong! I even take his advice myself when I go drinking. Don't look sideways at some fellows.

I love women from everywhere, I'm very ecumenical that way! Don't want to be accused of being sexist. :D

I must be really tired, because at first I thought you meant together, as in a peanut butter pizza with extra cheese.

No wine. Coronas are great and Coronitas are even better. What I really like, though, are cocktails and liqueurs - anisette, Frangelico, schnapps, absinthe, B&B.

See?! Not liking ice cream is like having a dirty little secret. People do not approve. I can say I prefer pie over cake, and you can say the opposite. But say you don't like ice cream and people cut their eyes, turn their backs, and reassess any notion they ever had of your value as a person of taste!

(OK, at a press, I occasionally enjoy a nocciola (hazelnut,) when I'm in Italy, and maple walnut in New England. But mostly I'd rather pass.)

There are levels to these things, like there are levels of hell. Although, in fairness to ice cream, it wouldn't last too long in Hell. But you know what I mean! :D
