Roger's BP conversion rate used to 1/13, 2/19, 1/17 etc and we were complaining.

Now it has come to 0/12.

As a Fed fan, I'm contented. Roger cannot defeat father time. His skills have eroded - that forehand isn't the weapon it once was, he still moves well but not as well..., he's not as clutch (many old retired pros have said it was harder at the end in the big moments because they knew the window of opportunity was limited) and he's not as explosive. He has made various changes over the last few years to remain relevant with scheduling, racquet changes, backhand, net game... but there are only so many times you can go back to the well. Once upon a time, it was big news when Roger lost a set.

Federer will always remain relevant until he retires, but he's now human. Not a lot's going to change that at this stage.

The bolded part IMO is the main reason for his recent losses. I am sure sports psychologists would have found a "medicine" for it. May be Roger needs to add a sports psychologist to his team.

Like watching him play but a little tired of all the Big 3, been ready for a new era to begin for several years
Hope he continues playing though until the next (or next next?) generation takes over, whenever that is.
and of course a proper 2010s/2020s farewell tour, like NBA Kobe

Was hoping to read Fed's obituary in tennis.com, espn.com etc. Could not find any. Looks like Tignor and Bodo have wised up and took a pass on it.

Roger's obituary is that he is now ranked below a few ham sandwiches (Zverev, DP, and KA). If that doesn't motivate him to get back to a respectable level then he is done.

And yes, Roger's ROS has long been awful. It's played a prominent role in many of his terrible losses over the years even dating back to 2008.

Ironically, I consider it an underrated part of his success in his prime as well as the 2017 season. Watching Roger now it is easy to forget the outrageous % of first serves he got in play and he was extremely tough to ace. Roger was always fairly passive on the 2nd serve but he usually at least got those in play all the time, now he misses way too many 2nd serve returns. And on the flip side it is kind of an underrated part of why he has not done too well after AO 2010. Rafa and Novak are scooping up slams at the age where Roger was basically absent (aside from a nice 2012).
