Spain has become that bad that they play India. :snicker

You expect them to win w/o Rafa? Same happened with Serbia! You need your #1 player even w/ all their talent! :nono

Team "C" of Spain should be able to beat India.

DC is a whole different game! The USA should have been able to beat Britain, but we lost consecutive years with players I hadn't heard of before; Ward & Edmunds! These guys weren't in the top 100 IIRC at the time! I can give example after example why you can't always count your chickens before they're hatched! :nono  :dodgy: :cover

The next for Rafa is to play the DC this Friday. The Spanish team is already in New Delhi where they will try the ascent to the World Group. Lopez/Lopez will play the doubles :clap :popcorn
And later? we'll see

Maybe DC will have a launch pad effect on Rafa for next year? He's got to win big somewhere!

Apparently Rafa and gang still have that Olympic Games team Spain mentally..I hope he is able to add some new wrinkles to his game.

I know he likes to build confidence from wins (who doesn't really?!) but kinda hilarious he only chose to play in India. I mean, they have such a strong team lol :cover Next time maybe play when they're actually playing a country with some good players when they actually need his help?!

Don't you know "mr. weights" that Spain team was playing badly last year and now they need to ascent to the World Group and then they could play against better teams? read and learn!

Everybody knows the news. The question is why should Rafa personally play to win against India, when he can simply send refreshing Xisca to do so. :cover

Carol, "beard" is a term for a woman that a gay man uses to hide his gayness. For whatever reason, Fiero is implying that Rafa is gay and Xisca is his "beard."

Are you saying no one on any site has mused about this topic? It didn't come out of thin air; believe it! Not like I care; never been a fave of mines because of his defensive/boring game! He and Murray can leave the tour and I wouldn't miss them or their play! :puzzled  :cover

If someone would have mused about that topic you would have been named several times and believe me, I don't care your "preferences" either

I think I've seen it discussed a few times before, yes, although I wasn't getting at that. My "for whatever reason" was more because 1) I don't really see any serious proof that Rafa is gay and 2) Even if he is, who cares? It neither impacts his performance as a tennis great, nor does it bother me in any way, nor do I think it is any of my business which "team" he plays on!

I won't miss Andy all that much, but I will miss Rafa, just as I would miss any great leaving the game. I'm as vocal as anyone about wanting to see a sea change, but boy are we going to miss Roger, Rafa, and Novak when they're gone.

Fiero is saying that Rafa is right-handed but he plays with his left hand... :snicker
