Inconsistent and erratic match from Serena. The double faults in the second set were cringe worthy! Yet, when her ground strokes clicked, they were a thing of beauty. Sometimes it feels as if I'm watching two very different players inhabiting the same body. While I don't condone violence, I wish someone would shake her and tell her to stop the pathetic cry-baby faces!

Ouch for Sharapova, but if I am being honest, then I expect an early flame out from her. Halep might flame out early too if she is a moron and plays New Haven. Interesting, question marks are Sharapova, Azarenka, Bencic. I think if you are Patrick that you at least point this out to Serena despite her record against them because the nerves will be bigger there. She aside from Halep and I would throw in Kerber are the only summer battle ready ladies going into the Open. Everyone else has been wildly inconsistent. Serena for all of her nerves and wildly inconsistent play has so far made the semis and final of two Premier tournies.

I fully expect if all holds true from what I saw live this week Simonna and Serena will meet in the finals. Tomorrow a slow start by Serena will prevent her from defeating Halep. I expect if Serena gets off to a slow start, Halep may defeat her in tomorrow's final. Too early to predict what may happen in a possible US Open final.IMO
