I think Goffin just pulled off the choke of the century, when he was up 3-0 realistically he would have to hold serve two more times and that's it. Weak, very weak. I don't feel sorry for him though, I am disgusted. He is #13 for crying out loud!

I've just been calling these guys "gutless!" In the old days, Nole would have been gone! I appreciate Goffin choking it away because I want Djoker to have the box set of all the Masters to set him apart from Nadal and Federer! He'll never catch up to them in MAJORS, but he's going to set a record for "1000's" that I can't see ever being surpassed! :nono  :dodgy: :popcorn

Is "Novak isn't interested" the Djoko-fan equivalent of "Rafa is injured"? I swear I've literally read this every time he's struggled since Wimbledon.

Well he did look pretty disinterested against Gulbis at Montreal, especially the lame weakly hit smash right back to him. Pretty blatant. Unluckily for him even when hardly trying his best to win, Gulbis just self destructed and handed it to him on a plate.

Good morning to everyone on the wrong side of the planet!

Let's see...
So Dolgo is in a Masters QF.
Good for him!
Stan over Karlovic in 1...2...3 tie breaks?
Good Gawd. What is the record for tie breaks?
Marty McGoffin had Djokovic on the ropes?
A choke or another of Djokovic's refusing to lose?
A bagel and a breadstick for Berdych.
Yikes. Is the Birdman finally clicking again?

The big matches are later this morning (for me)! Let's go Murray, Anderson and Lopez!

Just saw the score of Robredo v Berdych. Pretty embarrassing. Fish did surprisingly well against Murray too. Just imagine if he wasn't rusty. Impressive way to go out.

I hope we get to see the fedal match. It will tell us more about where Federer is at. If he doesn't win, I'm fairly confident that neither will be a contender at the U.S. open.

Agreed! Federer's been able to hold onto his #2 ranking until recently, but I didn't think he was necessarily playing that well! He was the Roger of old dismissing Murray at Wimbledon, but that was about it! I feel the same about Serena! She's been winning, but with a great deal of difficulty; often going 3 sets against players I have no idea who they are! :cover :nono  :dodgy:

I don't think Federer losing to Nadal will tell us anything. Federer plays like a god in the one round and then just rolls over for Nadal in the next.

Gasquet is having a pretty good year! Just ousted defending USO champ Cilic from the W&S Open! And he knocked out the Aussie bad boys in the first two rounds. He has won two titles this year and made the semis at Wimbledon. His ranking is up to No. 12 and could be in the top ten by the time the USO is over.

First both of them have to beat today their opponents and I hope they do, and second, if Rafa plays well then Federer losing or winning will be a contender at the USO same like Rafa

Murray broken right away to start the match. Trails 1-2 in the first. Come on Andy! Break back!
